Color paint for kitchen walls

Hello! What colors suggestions would go well with black granite counters, off white cabinets & stainless steal appliances? The kitchen floors are a pale wood color - very light beige and the walks have shoe wood panel halfway up. Should it stick with neutral colors or should I do a contrast color? Please help as I know nothing about color combinations. Thxs

Hi! I always recommend choosing an inspiration piece with colors that you like in it first before painting. I think in your area, red would pop, and green would be more calming, but both would work! Here are a few ideas for you:

Pale creamy yellow would really warm up the room. Then add a couple of accessories in a bold colour like navy, bottle green or red, just to break up the neutrals a bit.

Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area I think a select piece of art would really make a space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Hi Joanne, Questions to ask yourself are Would you like the room to be : - brighter or darker - cosy or fresh - feel larger or smaller - feel warmer or cooler - feel cheery, neutral or moody Also which way is the room orientated north? What are the other colours that are in the rest of the house? If these colours are all cohesive the spaces will link well and the house will feel larger. Interior Designers can offer a colour consultation - this is brief example of some of the factors that should be considered but the full service is best in person as the designer can get the feel for the space and samples can be viewed in the correct light which makes all the difference. If those kitchen units are sound it appears they suit the character of the building. It seems a shame to plan on ripping them out. If anything it is the colour of them that is wrong. I would find a tile that I loved and do all the splashback up to the wall cupboards including the cooker back and remove the little upstand from the worksurface too. Get the units professionally repainted to compliment the tiling. Dispense with the roller blind and maybe get a painted wooden venetian then get a large rug to make it all feel more cosy. A bit more than a paint job but a lot less disruptive than a whole new kitchen.

You can very easily play with different colours of the floor vs walls using Floorync Room Planner. Go to our website http://esbflooring.com and click on orange "Room Planner" top menu item. This is great and very high quality too. For small fee you can even upload your own picture and see how colours will affect genuine location.
