How do I update the Houzz app?

Houzzers! Our new Houzz UK app is out!

Many of you have been asking how to update the app, whether on your phone or iPad, so we're here to help. It's a simple process:

1) Go to the App store on your phone or iPad and click on the updates tab in the bottom right-hand side of the screen
2) Find the Houzz app and click update!

Your app may have already updated itself so if an update doesn't show, then you've already got the refurbished app!
The app will localise to the UK, but if you want to see other countries, go to Your Houzz, then Settings, and click on the Change Country icon, and select the location you'd like.

I don't know how to let others view my project

Hi there,

All users can view your projects by clicking on your profile and selecting Projects. When it comes to Ideabooks, you can collaborate on Ideabooks by clicking on the Ideabook you'd like to share and click 'Add or Edit Collaborators' at the top of the screen. You should then see a pop up screen that allows you to enter another users name, who will then be able to view and edit (should you allow them to) your Ideabook.

I use both. That said the desktop site is far far superior to the iphone app. I preferred the app before the update, as cavgirl said, going straight to 'latest' was much better. The app also regularly crashes and if you accidentally swipe left or right when reading an article it'll go to a previous page with no easy way to get back to what I was reading. If I wanted it to do that I'd just press the back button! One final irritant is that when using the app to write a comment on a discussion the text box takes up the whole screen so you can't swipe up again to read earlier comments/names which you want to make reference too. I did suggest some time ago I would personally love to be able to organise the discussions section by chronological order rather than just recent activity. It feels like some things just get lost because no-one comments for a day so it doesnt get seen for long. Then other times someone comments on an ancient discussion without realising and its top of the pile! Anyway, I do feel I should say I love the unique forum here and you guys do a great job! Sorry about the rant :).

Hi Charlesh555, Here's a guide on how to change the country in settings: 1. Click on the menu button 2. Click on Your Houzz 3. go to account tab 4. Click on settings 5. Click on country 6. Select United Kingdom 7. The app should ask to restart, click "ok" 8. After the app loads again it'll be set to UK. *You can see in the settings screen that it's set to "United Kingdom" after the restart completes. Please let me know if it still resets to US. We are working on a new version of the app for Kindle, so it should be available shortly! I'l keep you posted. Thanks!

Hello. I have the Android app and I'm able to change the country setting by clicking on my icon in the top right, going to account, then settings, and then country. hope that helps
