Do you get professional family photos taken?
Comments (11)My company gave us a share of the profits (only happened once!) and as it was such an unexpected windfall I decided to blow it on having some pics taken of the kids who were 10 and 11 at the time. I knew they were just about to leave childhood behind. I didn't know what to expect but the photographer was a bit bonkers, banned me from the studio for most of the session and made the kids laugh and laugh. They're taken in black and white so won't fade like holiday snaps and he framed them beautifully so they really are artworks. Now that they're both adults with spectacles, bald patches and the weight of the world on their shoulders, I look every day at their innocent, laughing faces and think it was the best impulse buy ever....See MoreCelebrity photo to hang on your wall?
Comments (33)Hello Emmeline, Well apart from BB above.. Lovely photo.. I am not actually that keen on the idea at all, I think things have to really mean something to you or be really really interesting, like people you met or knew or family members.. ... In that case I could have a fair few! I'm a bit of a renaissance art fan too... Do love an old old canvas portrait - although I have not acquired any... What I do have..... is a signed portrait of Peter Falk...I am a huge huge huge fan of Columbo!!! Love him! He and the episodes.. were such genius and I think a big part, reason why I love interiors... Architecture in LA is magnificent!! : ))...See MoreShare a photo of something that says spring to you!
Comments (20)The photo you used is definitely giant fennel because the same pic came up in a google search, however you are right to ask a local. Here in Ibiza the Ibicencans pick all kinds of food from the field boundaries and woods all year. At the moment it is mostly aspargus, wild garlic and the fresh bright green shoots of normal fennel. Mushrooms are a big thing in the autumn and most of the year there is a green veg that looks and tastes similar to spinach. Also the Med has sage and rosemary everywhere. I am still learning for when I retire, I have some land around the house with all of the above plus almonds, olives, oranges, lemons, pomegranite and a lovely fruit called Nispera in Spain but my Spanish mate Chema tells me there is a lot more that is both healthy and free. I also have a False pepper tree the fruits of which are actually useable as pepper (black)....See MorePOLL: Where do you display your wedding photos?
Comments (22)I plan to do something a lot like this on a wall at the top of our hallway which you see when going up the stairs. Will have one or two photos from the wedding day along with some family photos and favourite holiday pics (we have some incredible ones from our trips to Iceland and would be a shame to never see them). 99% of the time its just us in our home so I don't see the issue with having some photos up that bring back good memories. Though I'm not keen on giant canvasses of wedding photos in living rooms etc as I think it would feel rather odd being surround by large photos of yourself!...See MoreLorraine Nyenkamp
