Love the splashback colour - is it simply paint?

Just loved the colour and wondered what paint it is and whether it would be resilient enough behind a sink or hob?

Hi, We believe this is an eggshell finish - it is pretty resilient and can be repainted when necessary.

What an amazing forum this is. Do hope you have a clearer picture by now. I adore your splashback, it must not be relegated to a utility room. Buy more of the same for that! Perhaps you could frame an extra piece as art in another area. I've painted my kitchen cupboards in 'Hebridean Mist' which goes so well with the slate floor tiles, then a pink fridge freezer and pink edged worktop tiles tie in well. I like to add a little bit of matching colour from one room to another room, moving through the house like that. It givers synergy to all my rooms, none of which are the same colour, but all of which have a hint of another room. Anthology is a fabulous site to look at for lighting. Wayfair has a gorgeous orange glass globe light I want badly! I actually adore the combination of orange, shades of grey, white and black. A simple thing like 1 Cygnus Papilios cushion by Alex Goode can pass one colour into another room.

Just to offer a different view point. Your floor tiles look amazing. Why not flow the idea through and use tiles of that ilk as your splashblack. We have just recently finished a kitchen with a similar feel and our client opted for patterned wall tiles as their splashback. Based on your comment about the floor being chosen to banish boredom If you are worried about carrying through more of the same tones and want to inject colour, you could always do this through your accessories, that way if you fancy a change.... The colour tones you have chosen provide a great canvas on which to complement or have fun with colour.

Hi Sarah The beauty about the kitchen you have gone for, contemporary white units with natural wooden worktops and floor means that there are lots of options open to you for your splashback in terms of colour palette especially if you opt for glass. Or, have you considered something slightly more adventurous in terms of a printed design. We have been helping a customer in London recently who has been in a similar situation - not quite sure which way to go. He sent us an image that he liked and we visualised how the design might translate to his new kitchen (please see images above) to give him an idea of the finished look before making a decision. These were put in our house 14 years ago - started marking about 6-7 yrs ago and now just before I take them out I can mark with my finger nail. Think the quality of the black sockets are better now. Love the half wall ... and the industrial tiles that have been suggested. It’s going to look great!
