Help with colours for north facing living room
Comments (14)Midcenturylass, I would definitely go for a warmer white if you are open to this! I would personally look for something between the two whites, as the Linen Wash is almost bordering a Beige. Post some photos up once you've painted, i'd love to see the outcome! :) As for your husband show him these two images that i've found online (attached). I'm sure he can understand that a Full red room, will make the room look small and with the lack of light coming into the room from being North facing this will create a very dark space. I hope this help you to suade him against full red!...See MoreSuggestions for walls in a north facing dining room
Comments (6)Hi jc3135rc, I love the colour in the table mats and the lamp on the back unit so I would go for something to compliment that for the walls to give a sophisticated, warm and more modern look. A lovely mirror about the unit as you suggested will help bring light and the feeling of space into the room as well as keeping with the contemporary touch. If you want to keep some colour, the pretty picture on the wall and colourful fruit bowl could stay as your accent colour which will add a real pop! If you want more of a statement wall I would loose the pop of colour and for a textured paper. It really depends on your person tastes and use of the space. Could you add a pendent style light? I offer very reasonable by room design package with 3D render if you wanted to drop me a message for more information or a quick chat. All the best, Gina...See MoreNorth facing living room colour
Comments (28)This is Little Greene Acre in our east facing living room. It definitely looks like a very soft green and although it is very calm and restful, I don't think it will look quite right with your navy sofas. It would, however, be perfect with your fireplace and would complement the tiles really well if you fancied recovering the sofas....See MoreHelp with kitchen colours/ design in north / north west facing room??!
Comments (2)Hi! We have a north facing kitchen/dining/living area with a patio facing west and a window on the east side. We went for a lighter colour (slipper satin) on the kitchen units as they are at the 'back' of the room (ie you enter the kitchen from the hallway, then the living/dining area is at the patio/garden end). It is a lovely soft off white and doesn't look cream because of the cooler light north facing rooms get. We opted for Drop Cloth (also F&B) on walls which a lot of people comment on as it looks nice and warm and not too dark nor too pale. Our accent colour on the island/kitchen peninsula is Railings as I have other dark blue accents in my furnishings. If you are going for Downpipe on the island, I would possibly go for Strong White on your units as Ammonite can look quite cold. I have used S White on both walls and woodwork in other areas of my home and love it. Farrow & Ball told me it suits north light well, as does Wimborne White - which is a lovely warm white. Have you tried a sample of it at all? As for the tiles, I much prefer the blanc ones, think they look more modern. I have attached pics of my kitchen and hallway (which has strong white). I also have an instagram page Dekko Bird you could see more pics on. Hope this helps a little! keira x...See MoreClaudia
