Living Room colour - All 4 walls the same?
Comments (8)Hello Jules - I really like your choices of wallpaper. Both greens are really soft and relaxing colours; perfect for a sitting room. I love the Cole & Son wallpaper too but I don't think it would work as a feature wall alongside the greens. In fact, I think feature walls have had their day and you would be better off to go with the green paper on all four walls. The light wooden floor will look super with the green and if you do the woodwork in white/off-white then it will look clean & crisp. You mentioned that you were finding the room a little echo-y. You'll probably find that it'll be less noticeable when you have the dining furniture in the room and the curtains hung. If it still feels a little echo-y then you might consider putting down a large rug to absorb some of the sound. It also has the added effect of making the room look cosier. I hope this is of some help. Best wishes, Jessica Jessica Buckley Interiors...See MoreColour of woodwork
Comments (13)Thanks Mazur. The pics are very helpful but still leave me undecided - perhaps both options have equal pros and cons...or I'm just bad at decision making :). The ceiling and wall are joined by a curve so would not work to paint the black further up although I like the idea. @minnie101 that is definitely the most practical approach with where i have accidentally ended up! I have ordered a black column radiator. Unfortunately the management company is adamant that wooden floors aren't allowed, no matter how good sound proofing is these days so has to be carpet :(. Thanks re the chair beds - they are the same burnt orange as in the blinds so hopefully will look quite dramatic....See MoreCeiling, skirting and architrave the same colour as walls or white?
Comments (7)If you have beautiful period detailing, lovely coving etc then you can draw attention to them by using a contrast. If they are pale and the walls are dark (and vice versa) the contrast will be very strong. However, if the coving and skirting is nothing special then drawing attention to them might be the wrong thing to do. There's no right or wrong answer. With Farrow and Ball colours, then there are lots of options to pick out s slightly darker or slightly lighter version of the same hue. Does this make sense?...See MorePaint for walls and woodwork
Comments (8)You could go bold with Susie Watson Egyptian blue and bring in more of the ”red“ accents, perhaps changing the yellow throw, or I assume the 2nd pic is duck egg. Or do you want neutral? if so I think the colours you suggested would work. I’m not sure re the wisteria wallpaper, only as I’m not keen on the pattern repeat, maybe a modern chinoiserie if you want a feature wall? i do think panelling behind the bed could work though and bring in more pattern with ikat lampshades etc...See Morea douglas
