Hi, what material is the tub? Dimensions?
Where can it be purchased? How do you feel about light tubs? Sturdy? Thanks.

Hi there, the tub is the Barcelona from V+A Baths. The lights are obviously the correct regulation for bathrooms, so just check that if you decide to do something similar.

You can use side panels or a deck/surround to create what is, in effect, a free standing bath that would work well aesthetically and, optionally, as part of a wetroom-style bathroom. Deep soaking tubs are especially effective for such projects; they have smaller footprint, which affords more room in the shower area, but their greater depth makes them exceptionally comfortable.

If you really want a legless bath then having it on a raised platform is really the only option. It could look stunning. Think about low lighting and if you find it a stretch to get in and out then avoid any bath with high sides like a slipper style. You will be entering the bath from the raised platform not the original floor. The raised platform will look much neater if you make it wall to wall under the bath as a plinth. Get the plumber to draw you some quick sketches so that you understand the plumbing too. Consider your tap too. A floorstanding bathfiller tap might be easier than a deck mounted version. You might also consider building a false wall behind and mounting a bath filler on that, spout and levers. Don't forget a separate hand shower.
