What is the wooden floor& plank width in the hallway please?

The timber floors are stained Baltic Pine boards. some of the areas are the existing boards and others were made good. Then prepared and sanded and stained them.

The citrus stripper is softer than the caustic strippers. However, the caustic strippers are easily available. You will need to do a small test area as the chemicals may react with oak to form dark patches. It may be worth having a word with the technical department at Liberon who do a range of strippers and waxes. I would ask them if they have a non slip wax as polished wax can be notoriously slippery when first applied. You will see I'm avoiding sanding because you will remove all the patina fibres from the surface, but if you must I can ask our flooring contractor the best way of preserving the restored look.

That might be what I mean! :) Very new to all of this. would you say that is what is used in these examples? if so, yes. I mean, the planks don't have to be the whole length of the room, but this general kind of thing. Any recommendations for a place to buy this kind of stuff from? Thanks

We had Polyflor installed in all bathrooms and have taken the decision to do the whole of downstairs in it also. I have 3 small children with lots of energy that like to run round the new open space. The thing that swung it for me having paid for a number of full size samples in Karndean and Polyflor was how slippy the Karndean was compared to the Polyflor. Also the Polyflor doesn't catch the light and reflect the same as the Karndean.

Carrie - thank you so much for that comment. I really appreciate you resting out the temperature of your own floor for me! And for getting the noise thing, hate anything that is going to cause a racket! But I think between you and the other Houzzers on this discussion, I have had some myths busted about tiled floors. Only my own myths though I think! Thank you for the tips about the underneath of the floor too. That will really help. Thanks, I love the hallway and have been living with it as a mess for so long, it will be so nice to finally decorate it - I will try to dig out a before picture as have now had it plastered and rewired and mist coat of paint has gone on. Lots of woodwork to do now, door trims and skirting to go on and bannister to sand, then the tonne of final paint and can get to flooring after that. But we’ll get there!
