Can I fully tile a bathroom which was half -tiled 10 years ago?
Comments (14)I am a tiler so its in my interest to persuade people to fit more tiles but I agree with the other people who are questioning why you want to do this. You can transform the room with wall paper as Kerosis suggests and if you tire of that in a few years it is easy to remedy. I always point out to people that tiles are put on the wall as a practical durable easy to clean surface and therefore it is often not necessary to put them everywhere. If you do decide to fit tiles then you should remove the paint on the walls 1st as that was only ever designed to hold itself on the walls and it doesn't matter how brilliantly your adhesive hangs onto that paint if the extra load causes the paint bond to fail then your tiles will no longer be bonded to the wall (no such problem with lightweight wallpaper :-) Terry the tiler...See MoreBathrooms - fully or partly tile?
Comments (8)We got rid of the tiles in our shower enclosure. I was sick to death of cleaning them. Instead we have put Nuance by Bushboard up and it's brilliant. Use BB Complete as the adhesive and sealant and it's guaranteed 3 years. I would never ever tile in one again. We do have some tiles behind the basin but that's all as the other walls are emulsion. My son has just completed his shower room and he too has had Nuance in the shower enclosure and as he has cupboards all around for storage he has a grey worktop over them and upstands. Looks great and modern. He's delighted. With so much choice in sheet panels I wouldn't faff with tiling....See MoreBathroom Ideas for Small Bathroom

Comments (6)There are a lot of creative downstairs loos out there! Coloured sanitaryare would look great with some mad wallpaper in a pocket-sized space. I'm trying to create a restful space without seeming too chilly. Picking the right paint and to tie everything in is tricky. As you say, if I choose something with too much yellow it will be magnified in the small space. The upside is that if I get it wrong I don't have so much repainting to do........See MoreStudio 27 Architects
