Stunning house. Please could you advise what RAL colour the windows are? Thank you.

Hi do you mean the overhang above the doors? It looks ok to me, I didn’t notice it at first as the black doors are the main feature. I agree a stone colour would look nice though, something with pinky and browny tones to go with the brown tiles and red brick. I’m not sure if RAL has many colours fitting that bill so you might need to look at other ranges.

Well, it took as a long time to work out a solution, weighing up the same two options you are, and not liking either of them! In the end, we compromised, painted the woodwork and the walls in Dulux Trade White - it's not a perfect match but the difference is only noticeable in certain lights and not glaringly so. You just have to make sure to get White and not Brilliant White (which some decorators and paint shops will insist doesn't exist - it does, it's on the Dulux website). It's still definitely white but doesn't jar against that $%@&! RAL 9010 like Brilliant White does and in fact even casts a bit of a whiter light on it so the 9010 looks less creamy. Ironically though we decided against painting the windows because half the point of choosing them was the ready painted, low maintenance finish but we have since acquired kittens who have demonstrated that low maintenance doesn't mean claw-proof, so we'll probably have to paint them at some point anyway!

9010 belongs almost to the middle of the Yellow Hue Family. It has a CIELAB Chroma of 5.679 which makes it a colourful off-white. Higher the Chroma = the more colourful the colour. It could give a soft not overly stark appearance on the exterior/interior of an older home. Check how you like it with your interior trim. If you don’t have similar whites this colourful for skirting, you may find the windows a little yellow by comparison. 9016 belongs to the Green-Yellow Hue Family. (where most of the colours people consider as a ’true white’ tend to live.. It is a touch lighter than 9010 = higher Value. It has less than half the Chroma of 9010 = which makes it approx. 2 x more neutral than 9010 . Sometimes whites from this neighbourhood, so low in Chroma, can colour shift & feel almost a blue-grey white. Defo one to view both inside & out. See how it looks next to your white goods and interior trim. 9003 sits between the two others, towards the end of the Yellow Hue Family. It is the most neutral of the 3. (lower Chroma) + the slightly darker of the 3. 🌈
