Painting UPVC windows and updating dated bungalow?!
Comments (11)I personally would want to know 1. how easy is that paint to apply etc? This is quite a big and messy job to do and knowing me I'd start and probably wish I hadn't half way through! 2. have a serious search online to see if you can find images of homes of your era and type WITH that type of window colour. You don't want it to look like a mismatch! We have those Cotswold soft green painted windows in last house, but went because of the stone and age of house. In fact the local council bylaws insisted they were painted this colour and could order you to return to this colour if you didn't!...See MoreWould like window shutters but what would go with brown upvc windows?
Comments (9)I think you'll have to go with white or whatever looks best indoors in those rooms. You can always think about getting the windows colour bonded at some point instead of replacing them. Then you can choose any colour for those inside and out! You can paint UPVC yourself - All of our windows inside are painted the same colour as the walls in those rooms so that the windows blend into the walls. They were dark brown / mahogany ( vile ) - Outside they are all sage green. If you're going to paint the frames inside which will brighten the rooms and let you have whatever colour shutters you like, use Zinsser 1-2-3 primer and then paint away....See MoreUpvc or aluminium bifold doors/windows
Comments (8)Go for the cheapest option, it's only a door and a window. As you are planning to have alot done at the same time, spend your money wisely. You will already be adding value to your home by adding another room and off road parking. A developer wouldn't spend more on a renovation than they could recoup back on the sale. A friend had 2 electronic operated velux windows with rain sensors put in for their extension and they have never used them! As for their bi fold doors they have banned their children from using them! ( at a recent children's party, granny was in charge of opening and closing doors to let the kids in and out!) Their five grand door is too precious to be even used....See MoreWill Anthracite grey flushUPVC windows look good compared to aluminium
Comments (3)We went for aluminium sliders, personnel door, coping and corner post and flush upvc downstairs and upstairs. They look good and blend in fine. The windows are halo flush sash and cost a fraction of the price of aluminium ones....See MoreCroydon Window Company Ltd
