What wood panels were used for the soffit?

My new home is contemporary. I am searching for durable wood planks or panels to use under my porch and deck soffits.

Linda we utilised A grade hoop pine plywood sheets for the ceiling with a shadow line between each sheet.

The citrus stripper is softer than the caustic strippers. However, the caustic strippers are easily available. You will need to do a small test area as the chemicals may react with oak to form dark patches. It may be worth having a word with the technical department at Liberon who do a range of strippers and waxes. I would ask them if they have a non slip wax as polished wax can be notoriously slippery when first applied. You will see I'm avoiding sanding because you will remove all the patina fibres from the surface, but if you must I can ask our flooring contractor the best way of preserving the restored look.

I like your wood paneling and I think it is better to keep it as a character of your house and paint to the bright colour! Just in case, you can have some idea through these images of wood paneling and parquet flooring below. 1. White wood paneling with parquet flooring This white wood paneling gives minimal and contemporary looks and feeling. 2. Light gray wood paneling with parquet flooring 3. Beige wood paneling with parquet flooring And for parquet flooring, if the wood condition is still good then you may consider sanding the floor to get the nice smooth finish? If you do, the colour of parquet floor might be slightly lighter than the original colour. I hope this will be helpful for you.

The brass has all gone, as has the old reception desk and that alone has opened up the space hugely. We have also removed a section of the shelving at the top of the panelling which I think is going to look better as it is decreasing the shadowing. The place hasn’t been touched for at least 20 years. I agree with lightening the floor and perhaps adding some protection I high traffic areas with some rugs. On the wall I am thinking a soft mushroom colour or even a green. I would like to go bold but as we are in the highlands I am torn with the tradition of muted colours. I am investigating lighting to replace the dated spots and was thinking of playing with strip leds hidden along the top of the panel
