Comments (5)Thank you everyone for your comments. I hadn't thought of the space between the bedside units and the wall, but you're all absolutely right - it does seem a bit of an awkwardly spacious gap.. and most likely just going to end up hogging clutter too! I like the idea of the artwork behind each (taller!) lamp, so I am going to go and hunt some nice ones down now as I think that would definitely look great with the bigger headboard. Thank you all!...See MoreBedroom colour help needed.
Comments (19)Hi MB, When creating a feature wall for this room, I'd use the wall parallel to the windows for this / for the bed, or the wall next to them which I'm assuming is the wall you have chosen your Bed on? (Due to the wiring.) Making a feature of the window wall will make the windows look smaller, and potentially drown out any natural light, which of course you don't want when the room is North facing. Both Professionally and Personally, I wouldn't recommend painting the window wall. However, something that could work and potentially consider, is to paint one wall as a feature (darker) and the others in a much lighter shade of colour, if you really wanted to paint the window wall. I think the general consensus is a warm tone, as it's easy to make the room quite cold with Greys, although they are so versatile and bright in some cases when coupled with the right accessories and furniture. I've popped below a couple of paint colours from Farrow and Ball Neutrals Range. First, is 'Blackened' which has a sunny, warming look, and would work great with the furniture that you've described. And second is Skimming Stone, which is a Grey tone that I feel is light enough to pull of a north facing room, as long as you use warm lighting, and marry the accessories to the scheme. Hope some of the above is useful to you and all makes sense, let us know how you get on! @KerryBryanInteriors...See MoreMore smaller bedroom or less bigger bedrooms
Comments (11)So a dormer loft conversion costs the same as a side extension? It sounds like you'll be getting more space for the side extension for the same amount of money then. Have you had a look at other bungalows down your road or area that have had extensions vs no extensions and see what they have sold for, then you can see if it's worth it but who knows what the market will be like in a couple of years time. In terms of appealing to more when selling, people probably would prefer bedrooms upstairs but if bedrooms are larger and downstairs is huge it will be more attractive to buyers ( I think ) especially if there is a large family. Lots of new builds have a bedroom downstairs so it's not unusual plus families considering a bungalow won't be looking for the norm in terms of layout so 2 bedrooms downstairs is fine. You can also ask your estate agent that sold you the bungalow, get their thoughts on what is attractive to buyers, I'm sure they'll be helpful in case you'll use them in the future :-)....See Moresandrasal
