Tiles - concrete (effect?)

Hello I’ve been searching in vain for tiles. I want that lovely tactile feel and colour variation that you get with a polished concrete floor. But in tile form

someone please tell me these exist?

I've had not quite right samples of ‘concrete‘ tiles From Topps, Tons of tiles, Floors & Walls etc is there anywhere else I could be looking?

Tile mountain, tiles direct, total tiles, mandarin stone, fired earth, marazzi tile, porcelain superstore just to name a few worth looking at.

Porcelanosa do a range called Dover Topo. They have a surface which has a slightly rasped texture (like concrete) and best of all they have really authentic surface variation in the tones. I have them in my bathroom. I would have had them in my kitchen diner, but they are very expensive. Porcelanosa do a sale about twice a year. Bottom picture is my bathroom floor.

Amtico and Karndean are very hard wearing and resistant to water if laid properly. The easiest way to Compare it's durability and hard wearing properties is by looking at Supermarket or m&s flooring, which is very similar. In terms of the colour you have selected, I think it is very light especially for a high traffic area and prone to getting mucky. with Karndean and Amtico, I think you do get what you pay. There is also moduleo (I think it's what it the brand is called) which supply LVT nd they do effects other than wood; I've had no personal experience but have seen it around. Good Luck

I tested white porcelain with bright pink hair dye when I bought them for my kitchen and the dye just wiped off. In 7 years the white tiles have never stained. I've dropped a Le Crueset cast iron pan lid and the lid got damaged but not a mark on the tile. I've had some small chips at the edges when furniture has been moved over them but it is minimal damage and the furniture should have been lifted rather than scrapped across the floor. You can buy full bodied porcelain which where the colour of the tile is right throughout the whole tile and if you get chips, you should not see a variation in colour. I love porcelain and would not use ceramic after having it. The best place to go for it, is your local independent tile retailer, rather than the big stores like Topps and Tile Giant. Not all tilers are keen on fixing them it because they are harder to cut and drill than ceramics and they need diamond blades and bits which cost more. They are well worth the investment though.

Hi Shazadi, They can be used on the wall, we generally only advise using them on solid walls but always check with your installer as they will know the weight that your walls can take and if the tiles will be suitable. LVT is generally fine up to 27 degrees with UFH but you’d need to check the relevant make etc. A warm stone effect could work particularly if you have the room to add accessories to bring in more warmth? I don’t think a chevron wood effect would give a nautical feel and the pattern gives the effect of texture. I think any wood would work though, just avoid accessorising with anything nautical if that’s not the look you want! Do you also want to avoid pattern in the shape of the tile as opposed to a print on the tile?
