conservatory colours

It's a huge pitched roof south facing conservatory. We are having industville five light pendant. Please suggest suitable colours for all walls. Thinking of light green or olive green for one wall.

Hi Pancake,

Pale green and yellow colours are great; green is the relaxing colour and yellow represents happiness. Please note that greens work well with blues too.

We could recommend the following colour scheme: James White for the ceiling and woodwork then Green Ground or Cooking Apple Green for walls. To achieve a brighter scheme use the James White on ceiling, walls and woodwork then French Grey for feature wall. Go artfull and instead of paint use wallpaper for the feature wall - check Rebel Walls collections. And finally, bring more sunshine in and use Day Room Yellow as the feature!

I think you need to choose what furniture, rug and accessories you will be having first. Once you have done that then you can consider what wall colours you want that will fit in with the scheme. Your choice of green is a good one though, as green does go well with so many different styles of furniture.

Hi Gina. We have had the new conservatory roof fitted (not complete yet, missing 3 sealed units which have been filled with plywood for now - Anglian Windows are severely testing our patience. 3 day job now running into week two). Plasterer came on Sunday to plaster pelmets and make good other wall areas exposed by change of roof style. Lots of snagging issues. But on a positive note we have tested some areas with F&B string and really love it. Will need to cover the old orange colour to get the proper effect. Do you think that the pelmets should be the same colour as the walls?

We started repainting a quite old (10yrs+) pergola and attached bits and pieces with this paint/stain a couple of days ago - we used Sargasso Sea, a natural-looking sage-y colour that's a lot lighter than it looks on the chart (but maybe a bit dark for you). Enormously impressed with the finish, which seems really tough, and will hopefully last. We now have to decide on a coordinating colour for the shed and raised beds......

Grey! This will make your home look more contemporary. I agree with David you could look at a more robust roof such as an orangery so you still get the light but a more sturdy structure. You can get some very trendy design which don't need to cost the earth, It will be easier to keep clean too. Our glass conservatory was a little tricky to clean. You may wish to think of snow guards to the guttering too. We had a house years back with a lovely conservatory but no snow guard. Not sure of your geographical placement but could be worth considering. The other thing to consider is if you will have the same colour on the inside - SORRY if you haven't thought that far ahead yet. Most window companies off RAL colours and the charts are easy to get hold of or borrow. Good luck. you must let us know what you decide.

I think it should be same colour as the other wall on left as it has kitchen tiles on it so think it should stay same.....unless you paint them all..
