What sort of light would you use in this living room
Comments (14)Hi weezer16. I've had the same problem several times. If I were you I would keep to a fairly simple shape like a drum e.g http://www.pagazzi.com/shop-for-lighting/ceiling-lights/davis-extra-large-pendant-silver.html I can't tell from your photos whether a warmer colour would go better but the shape won't detract from the wall paper on the chimney Brest and ties in with the fairly simple mantle but a larger size will stop it blending into the background. Then you can add a bit more interest with your cabinet lighting etc....See MoreWhich light(s) for my living room.
Comments (11)Hi. How high are the ceilings? I think you need something at least 7ft off the floor but ideally more. The walls look pretty white. How about White and copper to go with the olive green and continue the airiness? Option 1 is from habitat, instead of the White light over the table you could go for a copper pendant. I must admit the room looks pretty light to me, the bookcase corner is a little dark but I assume a wall light is out of the question at this stage?! Maybe a floor lamp picking up more copper when you have the budget...See MoreReconsidering lighting in living room
Comments (21)It seems you are getting a mid century style tables. Your fireplace is mixture of traditional and modern details, balustrade in the background is traditional. You are looking at the light fittings that are very modern. To me it seems that you have to decide on what style you want to go with. The wall colour definitely doesn’t suit mid century/ industrial look . I would go for inspiration to your artwork of “ pebbles “ , those colours are beautiful but don’t go to dark. If possible get some one to help you with fireplace and make it look more Industrial. As far as lighting goes, use pendants in the corners above side tables or TV so you don’t bump in it all the time. Have some table and floor lamps but be careful with the style , they don’t have to match but at least they should belong to similar style. Your room seems large so don’t buy lots of small pieces of furniture, go large and only what is necessary....See MoreNeed help with living room lighting arrangement
Comments (1)Hi N K hope the move is going well and you are enjoying the new home. what you can do to combat this issue of off-centering is use a simple hook and grip to loop the cable over from the outlet so that you get a centre hang. Please see image below. There isnt an exact science to hanging heights as everyone is different, but you should try offering it up and seeing what works best for you so that you do not have to keep changing it for watching the tv. hope this helps...See MoreCarmen Urquhart
