Have never seen pavers like this. Can they be obtained "this side of the pond?"

Hi, not sure what side of the pond you are but they are widely available in the UK. They originally come from Belgium

Personally I think the grass, yellow bricks and the fence are a bit too uninspiring. How about trying to break it up a bit - thin beds with climbers against fence and extra beds / pots / paths to add different levels. Think of cakes on a cake stand, the more levels, the better it looks. Red cedar slatted fence to replace the existing, trailing plants over the walls. Talk to a good gardener to talk about the right plants for their position and also consider doing a watering system to make it super low maintenance (they don't cost the earth). Good luck with it - post some photos of the project!

Indian sandstone is the most reasonably priced solid stone. Concrete pavers are cheaper. Have you measured the space to be paved and compared costs with pavers you like? Could you combine gravel with pavers to reduce the cost?

I think a second patio would be a great idea to catch the last bit of sun. I think trellis to hide the shed is great too and I see you have a climber (honeysuckle, wisteria?) growing on it which is great too. I’m thinking a nice circle for the second patio would be great with some seating. I’m not a fan of decking. It soon starts to rot (I’m speaking from experience) and it’s so slippery when it’s wet. My deck is 8 years old and already rotting in the damper corners. I would choose sandstone paving, which come in ready made circles if you want, or pavers are lovely. You can get clay ones which are pricey but beautiful, or concrete ones which are much cheaper and similar to your main patio. Love Carolina’s and embzop‘s suggestions! Yes mii2, the deck is built onto the few pavers that form the ramp up from the lower patio to the lawn. Not ideal but they match the pavers of the lower patio (and are concreted in) so we just decided to leave those be and begin the new path from the top of that section. I wanted gravel as I thought it would be easier to manage the upward slope of the lawn from there but Mr doesn't like the idea of it against the pavers of the ramp (potential for slippage and being transferred onto the lawn by little bare feet etc!) The only other solution I thought of was setts or something similar so they could rise with slope of the lawn? Not sure.
