Cookology sold by The Wright Buy sell a 70cm induction hob with built in extractor for £529. The reviews are good too. We are renovating our house and will buy this hob.

How relevant is the suggestion in the original article above that the extractor should replace the air 10 x per hour. I have an average sized kitchen diner with a capacity of approx 74m3 so multiplying that by 10 gives 740m3. That rules out most domestic extractors unless they are running in turbo mode and I assume that many other people will require much more than this. My gut feeling is that as long as the extractor is above the hob, then cooking smells and grease will be extracted but what is the best practical option - I want a quiet, powerful, 60cm extractor hood.

If you Google "High Extraction Rate Cooker Hoods" and go on to a merchant page you will find a good selection of options.
