Can anyone tell me how much space is between the sidewalk and fence in the first photo with the picket fence. We have yet to build our fence and want to make sure there is enough room to do something similar. Our community allows us to build as close as 1 foot off the sidewalk, but I don't know if that is enough room for the flowers. 2 feet? What do you recommend?
Ryan I suggest you send the designer (Denise Dering) a message and ask her. I would guesstimate that bed is about 2' wide. That would be more than adequate for the perennials and you can even plant the roses on the 'inside' and allow them to scramble through
I am trying to grow something similar, but I am being eaten out by rabbits! They have eaten to the ground sunflowers, milkweed (both swamp and common) blue fescue, and coral bells. Where is Elmer Fudd when you need him?
