We moved into a new build in which the developer had provided a garden that was mainly to lawn with a few plants – very uninspiring. We decided to invest in landscaping the garden. We spoke to a number of garden & landscape designers and decided to work with Christine from GA Design. She met with us on a number of occasions to understand our needs and vision for the garden. She drafted early designs that we discussed and evolved during these meetings. She gave us the space and time to reflect on the designs and she changed the plans on several occasions based upon our feedback. Using a garden & landscape designer is an investment. We’re very happy with the garden that Christine and GA Design created for us and the garden gives us real joy. We would certainly recommend the services of Christine and GA Design.

I had a very small garden, mostly laid to gravel. Thankfully I found Christine at Green Arden online, and by altering the shape of the gravel and creating sweeping flower borders she has created a very attractive garden, with beautiful planting, which she sought & supplied in difficult circumstances during covid-19 lockdown, and which is ever-changing and interesting and has given me a lot of pleasure. She also put me in touch with Ali who managed all the groundwork including installing a small water feature. Christine has been a pleasure to work with and nothing has been too much trouble. She is full of useful information on every aspect of planting, pruning and maintenance and I'm looking forward to using her services for bulb planting & maintenance in the autumn. I have no hesitation in recommending Christine to anyone who is thinking of using a professional garden designer, it is a very worthwhile thing to do.

A background in architecture was what first drew us to Christine of Greenardendesign. She listened to what we wanted to achieve with our garden and her skills and knowledge have created a beautiful living space that gives great us pleasure every day. She was extremely organised, easy to work with and gave great advice and insight throughout the project. We instantly new that Christine was the right person to work with on our planting design, she is clearly passionate and knowledgeable and seemed to instantly understand us, our garden and what we were looking for. She was more than happy to work around the existing hard landscaping to produce a planting design that will give us interest and colour in the garden throughout the year while requiring limited maintenance. Her plant suggestions, layout and subtle changes to landscaping have created a garden we are very proud of. Work was carried out to the exact timescales and cost that we agreed and Christine has come back again to check on how it's settling in. It has been great to build a relationship with a local professional who will provide advice and guidance over the coming years to help us enjoy the best of our garden and Christine will be coming back later in the year to work on our front garden. We discovered Christine on the Society of Garden Designers website, and were attracted by her portfolio of work which we thought would suit our urban garden The hard landscaping and small amount of planting, already existed in our town garden, together with a garden pond, It is mainly a spring garden, with lots of bulbs but without much summer colour, and we wanted to change that so we had interest and colour all the year round. Christine very skillfully put together a design that took into account the plants that we wanted to keep, and included new small trees, shrubs, and perennials, that would blend in well with those we wanted to retain. She also sourced, delivered, and did the planting according to the plan. We are delighted with the result and each day brings something new happening in the garden. I chose to ask Christine to work with my garden purely from reviewing her web site and planting schemes shown on line . By telephone consultation initially Christine agreed to visit and discuss a possible way forward but was very careful that I understood procedure , costs and expectations which felt re-assuring that I wasn't being bulldozed into agreements that were not suitable, for either of us . Christine was very accommodating with appointments , took care to appreciate budget limitations and ultimate expectations . I am pleased to say Christine managed the project professionally meeting all her deadlines and kept to budget and the end result is one that has certainly exceeded expectations . While Christine is clearly a skilled professional garden designer she was very sensitive to hearing how I personally wanted to see my garden . She accommodated plants that were sentimental to me ( that may not initially have been included in her own design ) . She showed great skill in listening and understanding what I wanted in the garden but did not compromise her professional design standards .She presented the possibility of using new plants and new ideas with pictures and reasoning which made me ,the client still feel very involved in choices . My object in asking Christine to help me was to bring a very disjointed garden together to give me a feeling of natural beauty but with order and interest , to give me comfort away from other life but also stimulate interest and activity . Before Christine worked on the garden I sometimes had a sense of what I wanted to see in the garden but it was quickly obscured by the sense of being thoroughly overwhelmed by the work that would be needed to transport it to anything else . By asking Christine for her design and attendance I now have a haven of tranquility and the feelings of being overwhelmed have been replaced by a feeling of inspiration and invigoration . The sense of connectivity in the garden is so comforting . It feels like I have a blanket wrapping around me as I walk around revelling in all the interest out there . The planting scheme is idyllic to my original specifications to Christine in the very beginning . I should also make comment that the presentation of the plan was also done very professionally and I was able to feel assured of the ultimate plan and schedule of the work to be carried out . Christine designed, implemented and now maintains our new garden design. She was able to be both creative and traditional and was respectful of our own designs and ideas. The final garden included a wonderful and innovative living wall, various 'rooms' within the space, plus specific family centric elements, which has resulted in a very beautiful yet functional space. She also helped us liaise successfully with other trades to deliver a complete solution.
