Comments (6)Hi sawsankhan, I love the fish tank by the way, I hope that you will keep it when you do your room-makeover as fish are incredibly calming ! Here at Go Modern we have a great range of furniture suitable for children and young adults. I see that your daughter loves dark wood, gold & brown, with this in mind I have a few suggestions which all combine to create a beautiful and extremely stylish bedroom that will take her from 12 to 20 and beyond ! Firstly a smart new bed and I suggest the Bonaldo Billo Teenage Bed which is shown here in golden brown http://www.gomodern.co.uk/store/bonaldo-billo-teenagers-bed.html but which can also be upholstered in a huge range of colours. When she has friends over and needs extra seating in her room, how about these stunning Italian made Hollywood Poufs which are designed by Gino Carrollo. Available in a superb array of removable elastic fabric covers, as well as limited edition patterned fabrics - http://www.gomodern.co.uk/store/bonaldo-hollywood_pouf.html And to complete the look – how about a beautiful full length mirror – this one from Jesse, one of Italy's best known contemporary furniture brands, is perfect as the side strip can be in either walnut, oak or lacquered in your choice from 28 different colours http://www.gomodern.co.uk/store/jesse-strip-vertical-mirror.html I do hope that this is helpful, however, if you have any questions please contact our friendly, knowledgeable team on 020 7731 9540. Comments (2)I would get a Victorian style iron bed and put it opposite the chimney breast. You need a wardrobe on the wall opposite the window, a chest of drawers on the left of the alcove and at least one bedside table. I would try to get Victorian mahogany furniture to match your idea book. I would try to gets neutral carpet or floorboards but a Turkish carpet will add to the Victorian oppulence. I would paint the walls in a flat paint from one of the manufacturers that does a heritage range. Full length curtains can be made to look more expensive the addition of fringing. Lastly you should add a chandelier in either brass, opal glass or crystals. A brass desk lamp by your bed will be useful....See MoreHelp, need help updating my rented living room!
Comments (4)Hi Claire, You have a lovely space to work with and it’s great to hear that you’re up for doing a bit of DIY! In regards to the coffee table, go for it! It’s a lovely design and will complement the characteristics of the room perfectly. I’d dress the table with a gorgeous green plant - not only will this add vibrant colour, but also adds life to your space and is guaranteed to make you smile. As suggested by Minnie, a floor standing plant situated underneath your fitted wall shelves will add a feature to this corner of your room. If you fancy doing a little bit of painting, why not head to your nearest charity shop and find a sweet side table to place to the left of your sofa or either side of your armchair? Choose your favourite Dulux paint colour (in a Satinwood finish) and paint your table to add a personalised touch to your space! This will create such a lovely statement as you enter the room, especially if you choose a beautiful blue to create that coastal look. Adding a side lamp to the side table will add height and a lovely ambiance to your room, especially in the evenings when you’re snuggled up watching TV. To give your IKEA unit a fresh look, dress it with these lovely storage boxes which will work so perfectly with the scheme you want to achieve: http://goo.gl/zrKf2u Finally, if your budget stretches, take a look at these lovely cushions from Dunelm. The prices are amazing and I think they will finish the look so well. What do you think? · http://goo.gl/4Y4tim · http://goo.gl/KeBgL3 · http://goo.gl/Nne5dO Good luck giving your living room a homelier feel and please get in touch with us at help@amazingspacedesign.co.uk if you need any further help. And we’d love to see your finished room once it’s complete, so please do share some pics! Comments (9)Hi Heidi, I did a lot of work in Cannes last year, its a lovely location. The apartment looks wonderful, lots of strong architectural details, good proportions and light flooding into the space, a good start !! You really need someone you can discuss the project with who has the ability to visualise a concept based on your preferences and get those ideas down on paper. Your going to be inundated with designers who will pitch for this project. You need to consider four factors. 1 Do they have the ability to do the work. 2 Can they get on your wavelength so the interior captures your aspirations. 2 Are their fees reasonable and grounded in reality. 3 Can they present their ideas with artists impressions to illustrate their ideas. Taking into consideration all the above there is one final consideration. "Can you work with this person ?" This sounds like an abstract statement but an interior like this is the realisation of a dream for you, it should be a joy and as such you need to work with a designer that is both professional and on your wavelength from a personality perspective. On that basis you need to interview a quite a few designers. You need to be comfortable with that individual and have the confidence that he / she can produce a scheme that matches your tastes and have the ability to make it a reality. Here are a few details about myself: (Apologies about the bullet points) I'm BIID Registered - https://biid.org.uk/member/martin-nealon I have worked with luxury interior design for 30 years so have experience. I will quote a fixed fee for my design time, no hidden extras. My profit comes from design time only, I supply all fittings at trade and provide you with the trade invoices. (i.e. no mark up) I have two companies: www.3dinteriorillustration.co.uk The first is a design only company that can design the space, illustrate our ideas and provide mood boards for all rooms. This service is a fixed fee per room and is primarily for other interior designers but we offer this to private clients as well. We work on a fixed fee so you can see our charges up front and the visuals we produce will allow you to see the rooms in every detail. The designs are yours to keep so you have the option of retaining our services to do the interior or pass the drawings / mood boards to local companies to complete the works. www.angel-martin.com This company offers a full installation and co ordination service where we organise the project for you and oversee every aspect. I'm not going to pretend this is an economical approach, this type of project absorbs a lot of time but we do all the work for you. Thats my sales pitch over. Good luck with the project. With Kind Regards, Martin...See MoreWarner Decor
