Window Coverings
Comments (12)Angm47. These are basically what we have as our temporary solution. They aren’t working for us unfortunately. They crease / dent terribly, flies get trapped in the bottom (behind) and I can’t reach to pull them all the way to top without a ladder. Also, they won’t push down flat at the bottom. Thank you so much though for doing this for me....See MoreIdeas on how to cover a radiator fitted below a window seat
Comments (14)Thanks. The seat is 50cms deep and was originally designed by an architect to be a window seat. It still has the same solid support for the first 40cms depth, I've just removed the original decorative panel and replaced it with a very thin radiator. The old wooden front panel and supports would probably still have fitted back in place but I disliked it and threw it out, and it wouldn't have been easy to perforate. I'd been trying to avoid a metal screen, as I can imagine it will clang a bit if someone's sitting on the seat and swinging their legs. But it's a good idea apart from that. My current thought is to have a fixed panel in the middle and some hinged doors at each end of the radiator (for access) ,with the MDF attached to the front edge of the seat rather than fitted underneath. I'll go and take a look at those metal sheets thought :)...See MoreWhat sort of window covering would suit this window?
Comments (4)Venetian Blinds are so flexible. You can have the slats open to let in light, or slanted down just a little to get rid of any glare. You can also open them up completely when you want lots of light. Wider slats painted white or left natural and made of wood or mdf are very popular now. Comments (17)Thank you everyone for the replies, I’ve checked a few of the other bedding sites mentioned and there are a few other alternatives which pull from a lighter // warmer palette so I should be able to move away from the darker stuff (although I did think I could just order two sets and see how they look once on the bed/in the room). I would definitely like a feature/textured wall behind the bed, I had been considering a DIY panel:- But I think a good textured wallpaper could offer something just as nice. I’ll be putting carpets down for the upstairs of the property (wood in the downstairs), I haven’t settled on a colour but will most likely go for a single colour on each floor where possible (not sure if I should go light or dark but leaning towards lighter floorings, I can always introduce rugs to add more depth / colour). I think they look nicer than the first but would probably pass due to them being glass, I’ve had my days of cleaning glass furniture every hour so now avoid it wherever possible lol!). What is the bedding set? Also has anyone shopped with Secret Linen Store before? they seem to have a few interesting offerings:- https://www.secretlinenstore.com/bed-linen/duvet-covers Thanks again for all of the helpful replies!...See MoreP O
