It's Open Garden Squares Weekend this weekend and that means access to 200 private gardens across London! It's amazing to be able to tale a look into other's beautiful gardens and get some inspiration.

Comments (6)August and September are busy harvest months. The tomatoes, blackberries, zucchini, plums and apples will keep us the busiest, canning tomato sauce, blackberry syrup, apple butter, drying apples, freezing plums and pickling green cherry tomatoes. Also we're building some decking and I'm considering extending the decking slats around two or three sides of the new pond. Comments (18)I have a large fig tree on my patio and lots of veg I plant in fish boxes picked up from the beach. I had a large vegetable garden but this gets smaller every year because I can't resist planting fruit trees - so far I have a 3 apple trees, pear, plum, cherry and apricot trees. Currently cropping onions, leeks, artichokes, rhubarb, potatoes, salad leaves and watercress from the garden - the strawberries will soon be ready to eat. Comments (11)Alas the armandii is toxic to dogs (think I might have one at the front, eek) However I did find 6 others that are evergreen and flower in winter which would be fab to brighten up the drab season. Not sure how fast growing they are though...See More
