Should I paint this chest of drawers?
Comments (15)Hi Marisol. Another suggestion to add to the mix. The drawers are set into a full frame. Leave the drawers as they are, the wood grain is beautiful...... Look at taking the drawers out, painting the unit in a cool grey (Farrow & Ball or Little Green) then put the drawers back. The natural wood fronts surrounded by the paint finish will look faaaab. Bigger lamps a must...... Bedding in cool grey with pure white pillows....mmmmmm Try white plantation shutters into the narrow windows above the bed. The headboard needs a focal point, add some artwork, oak frame with a cool grey mount board and white inner bevel.. Hope that helps, Martin: www.angel-martin.com...See Morehow can I get light into my dining room?
Comments (3)Hi there! Do you have any pictures or plans of the room to give us an idea of what you're working with? Adding the windows is going to be one of the best things you can do but there are a few interior design tricks to try. If you paint or paper the walls in a warm shade of white you'll bounce the light around and keep things bright and cheerful. You could also hang a large mirror on the wall opposite the existing window to increase the sense of light coming into the room....See MoreEmpty Corner in Living Room - What Do I Put?
Comments (15)See how you go with the plant. What direction you take will rest on how you like your room to feel. A simple plant with a piece of art above for a clean simple feel in a more Scandi manner, or find items such as Sonia's bookcase and reading chair suggestion to help fill the room for a more layered feel.. Take your time building your room with pieces you like - a room with pieces you have collected will be warmer to you than a currated room that doesn't speak to you. Often times when we move the starkness of a new location makes us feel we need to fill, it will fill organically over time and then you'll think how did it end up with so much!...See MoreShould I put folding glass doors between kitchen and living room?
Comments (6)Hi Lizzie, For us folding glass doors / bifold doors provide the flexibility to open up the space when desired, or close it off for privacy or separation. This can be particularly useful for multi-functional spaces like you have, where you may want to adapt the layout depending on the occasion (eating / dining / entertaining etc). That said, the folding doors can help contain cooking noises and odours, which can be beneficial if you frequently entertain guests or enjoy quiet time in your living room. However, keep in mind that glass doors may not be as effective at soundproofing. If your goal is to create a seamless transition between the two spaces and let the light flood in, glass doors may be an excellent choice. Just as an FYI, we have a selection of internal bifold doors or internal french doors - with plenty of glazing options and styles. Best of luck with the renovation....See Moredecor178
