Help!! Cannot get my head around a good living room floor layout!
Comments (4)If you put the tv on the wall behind the door, you're going to end up sitting with your back to the fireplace, which isn't very cosy. I would keep the tv in the present position, to the left of the fireplace, but if you budget allows, get a built in unit for it, with storage for dvds, etc. Find a small corner sofa that will fit nicely in the space, facing the tv and the fireplace. Consider rehanging the door in the opposite direction so that it doesn't swing towards the sofa. Then at the conservatory end, put a couple of nice armchairs - or a chair and a small two seater sofa - and add a built in bookcase on that side of the fireplace, and some floor lamps. This will be a cosy relaxing area. The tv will be visible from each seating area, but the fireplace will remain the focal point of the room....See MoreHow to arrange furniture in living room and art above couch
Comments (2)If you're keen to keep the existing furniture then the couches need to stay as they are - you can't block the opening or the cupboards. So the only option would be to change he actual furniture....See MoreHow to layout furniture in this L-shape living-dining room
Comments (1)'it's a tricky one as it's a big space. The only thing for me that poses a small problem is the desk / office, so I hid it in a large double width storage unit, with a chair either side to be pulled round when in use. Opposite that is the bookcase by the window and a reading area with two armchairs. Further down, the dining area with large table for 8 people. This ties in by way of two large identical rugs to the lounge area with fireplace and T.V...See MoreHow can I place furniture in this living room?
Comments (4)Congratulations on your new home. Is this the estate agent photo or is this your furniture? It would be useful to know that to see what you are working with or whether you're purchasing new furniture. Also, how many people do you need seating for and do you intend to have a TV in the too? It would also be useful to see a photo of the other end of the room and get an idea of what kind of colours and styles you like. Are you want to stay traditional or would you like to give the space a more contemporary look?...See MoreSpotdeco
