Window coverings

I just finished a renovation of my bathrooms and needs window coverings for them and 1 bedroom. I contacted budget blinds who came and gave me a consult.My bay window in my bathroom doesn't need quite as much privacy as my other bathroom, so I opted for solar blinds at 3% and 1% exposure where I needed more privacy.They offered me solar blinds by a company called Signature and another offbrand which I hadn't heard of. They offered me a 35% discount off retail. The pricing was between 200 and $300 per window based on size and fabric. delivery and installation three weeks.
Is there a difference between brands that is significant? I have only had experience with Hunter Douglas blinds and haven't heard of these other brands and I'm wondering if it is a mistake to go with an off label brand?
Any advice regarding window treatments is very welcome! thank you!

Hunter Douglas is High End Luxury brand and all products - the best quality. For example - there are a lot of brands on the market with shades like Silhouette. What the difference between them and Silhouette. First of all - opening mechanism. Hunter Douglas Silhouette has 4 different options: LiteRise(cordless), EasyRise (classic cord), UltraGlyde (retractable cord) and Motorized. You can have exactly what you need in your situation. For other brands - Classic cord and motorization only! And of course quality and versatility of fabrics and Life Time warranty from Hunter Douglas. If money for you is not an object - go with Hunter Douglas. If not - it's nothing wrong to install other cheaper brand if you like colour and quality.
It's like your car - if you can afford Cadillac - good, if not - GM or Chevrolet are not bad as well.

Hi Am following this thread with interest - I have windows like this throughout my house and am finding it really difficult to decide on suitable treatments. On the upside it means the house always looks light and airy! We currently have a series of temporary roller blinds downstairs which work pretty well, but in the bedrooms we have curtains - although they now cover the radiators so not keen as a long term solution. Would also like to have blackout in the two main bedrooms. Does anyone know if extra wide roman blinds are available anywhere? We'd like an unfussy look. Suggestions and pics most welcome. Thanks.

Firstly, i'm presuming you can't furnish until you move in, unless you have the keys already......? 2. Having a uniform colour throughout the house, would not usually be the norm, as curtains, cushions etc are uaually though of as accessories and therefore, wall colours and carpets / flooring can be uniform, but curtains and blinds different. 3. Look under curtains or blinds in the Pro Section at the top for your area, maybe one will jump out, you could call to discuss your ideas? 4 Curtains and Blinds are usually one of the things adding to the colour scheme of a room and 5, yes they are often a finishing touch along with your other accessories.

There are quite a few roller blind companies online now that have a large range of textured fabrics with free sample service. Even some lovely ones in Dunelm! I would go for roller. I’ve done that in our bedroom as the windows are high and in a recess so can’t have curtains and want to let as much light in during the day as possible.

Only problem with treating it as one window means your curtains would pretty much cover both side windows.... it would look fine but just depends if you actually need that light?
