Comments (47)Hi thanks very much for the useful hints and tips, they've really helped! So far I've done a subtle re-jig of the decorative items on the shelves and thinned them out a bit to make it less busy (and more contemporary). I have added a cushion and throw plus a bit more useful storage baskets and so far I'm happier with it now. I also have to consider the overall flow of the room rather than 1 wall - for example when I walk into the room this wall is on the left and the sofa wall is on the right, and there was a risk that if I added shelves etc on this wall it would then unbalance the look of the room as the sofa walls are so far pretty plain. I'm getting a new sofa next month and when this arrives I'll be able to see the room in its finished form and can make any last minute adjustments!! I want to add some more shiny stuff and will get a nice chrome tray or centrepiece for my glass coffee table. Pffft, this house decor lark can take over your life sometimes :))...See MoreIdeas for a very small garden
Comments (19)Love Jens bike storage and it ticks another box since if you keep herbs up there they will get even more sun and easier not to forget to water them. Think you can create a little courtyard effect in your space and it will be fab. I can’t post pics but I’ve just saved a pic to my ideabook called DISCUSSION that shows an incredible simple “pergola” that would probable span the depth of your space. If you did this it would create something for the eye to look up to and take away focus from fence being close. And it would be something to attach solar lanterns to or hanging herb baskets or decorating bunting for birthday parties even. Plus you could train a climber up it without risking the climber taking over and blocking too much light as it might with a normal pergola. Anyhow just an idea!...See MoreI need some ideas for my small living room :(
Comments (22)Ohhh boy! It looks for me as hallway. I would put sectional in the corner and rug. Rug is all the way ,long enough to cover eyesore tile work. Will continue later with ideas....See MoreDesperate need for some inspiration and advice for guest room/ office
Comments (15)I would go very modern and clean, you don't have to spend a lot of money. Painting the walls white would be a cheap and easy way to brighten the space. The add personality with accessories, art work and bedlinen. Have a look at our Ikea hacks https://www.thedesignerandthedecorator.co.uk/journal/diy-furniture Ikea Rast chest of drawers could make nice bedsides. Also for wardrobe, You could install an open hanging system from ikea like the photo below Or with a little bit of budget Sharps wardrobes could make a custom wardrobe around the bed And a lift up storage bed also helps with a small space...See MoreAmber Jeavons Ltd
