From hit shows to houses, orange really is everywhere, and it seems it's only the Parisians who are in denial that orange is the new black . A bold yet much maligned colour of the past has a much overdue place in the spotlight, and here at Houzz UK, we're ready to ride the waves of change (see here for more of our musings http://bit.ly/1u5bxvm). But how do you feel about orange? Is it hot or cold for you?

Comments (20)I love some lusciousness in my bedroom ... reds. pinks and oranges! (yes I also have lighter softer colours but like some fun thrown it too otherwise feels so boring). Comments (38)Hmmm, not necessarily my cup of tea but has its merits in places so long as it doesn't make the room feel like a fish bowl. One thing I don't like though is if it allows you to see mess in another part of the house (my main bugbear about open plan...I don't wish to sit in my living room with the oven on and pots in the sink of an evening). Comments (17)Orange is a brilliant colour on the walls but getting the right shade was tricky. I used to have a living room with two walls a bright/burnt orange and the opposite two walls were pillar box red. It had two big sash windows and white above the picture rail and on the ceiling with a pale wood stripped floor. I loved that house!...See More

9 years agoI used burnt orange in my lounge for feature wall. Was bit nervous and had many people pull faces at the idea but I love it!

I used orange bits and bobs as an accent colour in our main bathroom (please disregard the green lighter, I'm just rubbish at staging!)

9 years agoOrange is the new black. Its a bold choice though. I've used in my family lounge and playroom/storage/annex.
