Love the copper sink! What is it like in usage?

I am thinking of installing a copper sink and copper lined kitchen island benchtop, but I don't know what copper is like in daily use. Does it go dark quickly? Do you need to polish it regularly? Can you seal it with something?

Hey Jacky, the copper sinks are lovely but they wear quite quickly inside. Nikki (the owner of this house) chose hers because she wanted them to wear quickly and look like they had been there for a long time.

Hi Amelia, thanks for your reply. What do you mean with 'wear' quickly? Do you mean scratched and bumped or dulled to a coin copper colour or both? My sink gets heavily used with lots of dishes chucked in it before going in the dishwasher. Would it be able to stand this?

Hi Becky! I love the idea of copper and mint green kitchen. You've already bought some minty stuff which is great, you can still use them. Heres what I'm thinking... 1. Get some spotlights in there perhaps underneath your wall cabinets? 2. Love the idea of bringing in more herb pots & plants. 3. Change the tiling to mint green or perhaps something a lot lighter, like the marble effect? It will go perfectly with the mint green theme. Hi Jacky, I would say it more gets worn and dulled like a copper coin - but not scratched. If anything I much prefer the worn effect the copper sink eventually gets

Hmm, will think about it, Amelia. I like to easily see my sink being clean, so I may opt for a white porcelain one instead...
