Personalised splash back in kitchen

Hi everybody, I would really love to have a favourite photograph of my family turned into a splash-back, either behind my sink or behind the range, or possible a tiled one behind the range and something else behind the sink, maybe made from glass, or acrylic or any other suitable material really. Can anyone recommend any UK companies who do this well, please.

We've been looking at acrylic splashbacks for our shower. Some companies who make good quality ones are Parapan, Vistelle, lustrolite and David Clouting. Not sure if they can personalise for you, but they may be able to advise some designers who can. Nors

Our client wanted something unique and personal, they've chosen the original painting we did the rest.

We vote tiles! If it was my kitchen (and mostly because I'm a messy cook) I would be inclined to tile (or glass backsplash) anywhere that might need to be wiped down-e.g. behind cooker, along any counters where I might be doing any food prep. This gives you plenty of options-you could tile behind cooker and counters in metro/subway tiles, but be careful as it could look busy with the granite and wood grain of kitchen-it will depend on the grout. Alternatively, you could use big clean glossy tiles like this marble look above.

Well I love the look you have right now. So personally would chose a natural stone or tile very similar to current wall colour. As your wood units are such a gorgeous rich tone I thibk adding anything mid to dark would detract from these. On another note can I ask about your crittall style internal doors please? Are these actually metal? Can I enquire about supplier you used/cost as it is the exact look I am planning for our house. Thanks.

Mirror splashbacks can make a small space look really cool between wall units and base units. Apart from the standard mirror silver you can get antiqued (is your kitchen style dictates this) or coloured glass such as copper/bronze. If you are not that keen at looking at yourself then a smoked grey is a great option for modern contemporary kitchens. Mirror splashbacks can be cut around sockets for that perfect look. Ensure behind your hob that you have toughend glass otherwise it could shatter with the heat from the hob. A simple upstand in the same material as your worktop say 75mm high is simple then use a washable paint for above for a simple look. Hope that helps

I'm only a DIY fan (not a pro) but I did a personalised splash back at our old house - I don't seem to be able to find the photos mind you :(

I googled "customer design wall paper" and created the design, then wall-papered the wall behind the hob and mounted a clear splash-back glass over it.

It worked a treat - was still looking fab after 5 years when we sold the place and it total it cost around £40 for the wall paper (the area was approx 2m wide by 1.5m high) and the clear splash-back glass was about £70
