Chloeloves, thank you so much. I will dare to start on the painting!! We did the fireplace in the lounge so I know how much work it is! I've had someone offline suggest putting the desk/vanity type thing between the wardrobes so it sounds like that is a good idea. I was a little worried about it looking really cluttered when you walk in the room. Maybe more a dressing table with mirror above versus a desk with shelves above? Jonathan, thanks for the layout! I tried moving the bed around and did like it positioned up by the window like you suggest, the room feels more open that way. Do you think books should do above desk or on separate bookshelf. Do you think the desk should be made (we know a good carpenter) and painted same as wardrobes or should I get a 120cm like the Malm one from IKEA to slot in? Could paint doorhandles different colour? Also was planning on using same curtain poles as rest of house - chrome - but haven't got much space between window and wardrobe so am a bit worried it won't look right. We had white tracks before. Any suggestions? Thank you all!

I like the wall paper and although on my screen the wall paint colour looks a silver grey and the wallpaper looks a grey with a brown quality I think it will work when you have finished. Lots of people have a wobble before the room is finished and it looks a little bare. Personally I think you need to take at least one of the accent colours from the wallpaper such as the navy and use it elsewhere- such as lamp shades, soft furnishings and art.

Curtains help to soften walls, they needn't be ones that function, but rather drops that hang either side and just over the frame. Could be a more textured fabric and could tie in with the butterflies suggested above (they are gorgeous! ) Maybe a rug or fluffy faux fur on the floor, small enough to take out and shake every so often to make cleaning easier? See if you can draw her out on what she likes in the photos, how the photo speak to her.... warm, fun, displays of favorite objects, textures etc.
