Best storage below stairs

Hi ,

I would like to have some ideas to find the best storage to put under my stairs which is located in the entrance of the townhouse. Thank you for your help

Some smart looking cupboards would look great. Fairly cheap to do, and wouldn't add any clutter or mess to your hallway.

Hi ,
Thank you for the advice. I am not the owner though so I am looking for storage that can be movable.

HI Tani, it looks great! I wouldn't add a mirror cabinet as I find them a bit dated if I'm being totally honest. If anything maybe a mirror but would leave that to the new owners as I think it looks great as is and like the idea of the cosy dark space for a bath. Same thing for the window, the room doesn't look unfinished without a window dressing in my opinion unless needed for privacy? Perhaps a couple of vintage style bottles for the end of the shelf by the grey ŵall and add a plant to dress that shelf a bit more? Maybe just a white orchid in a corner of the window sill and a towel on the radiator with a couple stacked on the end of the bench?

Good morning Emanuel. Thank you for the picture! It is easier to recommend something when we can see the actual staircase. For your steps and risers, I recommend using our stair cladding parts as you can install them over your existing steps and risers (they are extremely easy to install). You can go for a walnut or white oak timber/colour. The newel post, handrails and spindles don't look too bad so it is up to you if you want to change them or not. It would look better if you changed them. You can renovate them with a stop chamfered design, or you can even go with a glass design (which seems to be the preferred solution for staircase renovation in 2016). Because we have this competition going on, I would suggest that for now you place a small order (maybe buy the cladding products) and then, if you win, you'll be able to get the other stair parts for free. Here is one of the projects where we used our stair cladding parts with our glass panels.

I would leave leave the centre divide in have the side with the stair box in as shelving and put two rails in the other side for double height hanging. looking at the height you may get a shelf above the top rail also.

Ikea do some deep free standing units that come with a variety of doors on and you can build them up next to each other so it almost looks like built in storage. Then they do smaller cube versions of the same storage (trying to think of the name!) which you stack on top of the taller one to fit in the angle.
