What do you use for protecting your flooring when moving furniture?

We have found that the simplest solution is to use a furniture slider such as the magiGLIDE system, which seems to fit just about any item of furniture! Any other solutions?

Guilty of shoving a cushion under things to slide them about on wooden floors, as always too impatient to wait until someone can help me move the furniture around ! ( the perils of being a designer, needing to move stuff about almost weekly !!)

I have no say in what happens in the loft library... unless I want to take a book to read, he wouldn't even let me dust the place (not that I'd offer to dust it, anyway :)) I managed to insert a vase and a few prints on top of the bookcases in his office, but as he's buying 4-5 books a week, they're probably have to be moved to make space for these new books. Knowing the pattern from our last house, soon we'll have to have more shelves/ bookcases bought or built. Hmmm... who knew living with a bibliophile will prove rather difficult?

As no-one stays anymore, I swapped my lounge with my spare room (flat). I now have a lovely square lounge just for TV and chats etc. My spare bed is in my new 'craft room' just in case but it is covered with paper, clay, frames, paint and records. I paint and listen to old rock and metal that I can shout along to!!!

I am moving into a flat with a large wall and looking to get some bespoke shelving which can hold books as well as TV and some cupboard space below. Would also like a small shelf that pulls out so that I can use my laptop. Anyone got any pictures of something like this? I know probably have to design it and get someone to build it. Heavy furniture should have felt pads attached to the feet so that you don’t accidentally scrape or scratch the floor when moving the furniture or cleaning. These are really cheap to pick up and take seconds to apply.
