A Stylish Addition to a Stylish Home in Balham
Comments (0)We recently fitted some of our shutters in a very stylish home just off Balham and very near the huge and beautiful Brockwell Park in South West London. You can tell that they were the perfect window dressing option for this bright and colourful living room. Read the full article HERE ....See MoreAssistance required living room
Comments (8)There really isn't anywhere better for your sofa than facing the focal point of the fireplace [if indeed it would fit anywhere else!]. I too like the idea of a small armchair - it creates a conversation area, making the room more inviting. The Cox and Cox ones suggested by minnie101 are great and would work, though I might be inclined to go for an upholstered one, possibly without arms, to ground the space there, otherwise you have a lot going on visually in that corner. The plant would look good on top of the cupboard it currently sits in front of....See Moreliving room help required please
Comments (9)Hi, the room mostly looks airy & calming. I think the difficulty is the sofa which is so dark compared to most of the rest of the furnishings. If you’d had some natural wood furniture it would have helped blend the light & dark tones. However, I like your white furniture & think some pattern, eg monochrome patterns would help to bring the room together. You could add any colour but if you want to stick with mostly pale neutrals, adding some different textures would also help. Some artwork above the sofa would be good & also some greenery - maybe a large floorstanding plant....See MoreLiving room Ideas required
Comments (4)To create some cosy - run with the console table, but a narrow one along the short wall as the door opens. If that has a wall sconce light, it can be used to light the table. One in a wood would bring some warmth, so you could go a blonde or a darker wood. Part of the reason you may be feeling a lack of cosines is it is a very stark space - with tiles, no drapes and modernist light fittings - so some texture will help bring warmth. Maybe an entry rug? Or a rug under the dining table? You have a lamp there next to the dining table, it needs something larger to sit on - a sideboard? This could be a modern piece to keep with a simple aesthetic, but again I would consider wood over a metal/glass or marble piece. Don’t rush to fill the space- look for something you really like....See MoreStuart
