POLL: What's your favourite season?
Comments (20)All seasons are special. However in the last few years - summer for many reasons: warm weather, beautiful blue skies, some rain and sun for plants, beautiful food and fruits, not wearing so many layers, everyone seems happier and being able to get out a lot more....See MorePOLL: What do you put above your fireplace?
Comments (43)I am lucky enough to live in a flatshare that has a fireplace, even if it doesn't work! I just love the way it brings the room together and encourages snuggling up on the sofas with a nice cup of hot tea and a good book to read! There is something very homely about a fireplace and although our one is bare of any mantlepiece decorations, one of my favorite artworks claimed its spot above it almost as soon as I stepped foot in the house! The color of the marble and the undertones in the paintings couldn't have worked any better if I wanted them to and I feel like the dimensions are pretty well balanced! My flatmates certainly didn't oppose!...See MorePOLL: What's your kitchen worktop material?
Comments (127)Another vote for Dekton and Sileston Quartz worktops, use them all the time in our projects as so much more forgiving and low maintenance than granite or marble. Agree that Corian is a good option if you have a large island to prevent visible joins, whilst it has other benefits you do need to be very careful when it comes to heat. Vast range of colours and textures in all types nowadays so the type of material shouldn't limit the effect you want to achieve - be that traditional or contemporary. I am always a big advocate that a worktop is an investment, there is no point spending a large sum on a beautiful quality kitchen and then finishing it off with a worktop that won't stand up to time as well as the rest of the room or cheapen the look - I always recommend to go for the best you can afford....See MorePOLL- Vote for Your Favourite Colour Trend for 2019
Comments (3)I am a confirmed cynic where published trends are concerned. No matter what Pantone or anyone else says in their forecasts for the coming year, it depends on what manufacturers produce, the shops stock and ultimately what the consumer is willing to buy. Mostly, announcing what a trend will be is a marketing excercise and hopefully for those selling everyone will follow then until the next trend when they will spend more money on whatever is next. Be true to yourself and make your own trends....See MoreStella Michael
