Help, help living room please!
Comments (6)I think you are playing too safe - it all looks too bland even with the cushions. You need another pop of colour - cushions on the natural sofa. Maybe a throw on the leather one. Definitely need a rug in the middle - looks like you are going for green, so perhaps pick out that colour for a rug. Also maybe a painting/print on the wall behind the natural sofa....See MoreHelp with HUGE living room dilemma please!
Comments (42)I think that the fire place is beautiful as it is and does not need any make up!! The sideboard on the right is no so big at all and if painted with different colour than grey and distressed could become a much lighter piece with its own character. I would take the top off the left one and again shabby chick it, filling the doors with ornaments to make it more interesting. It is amazing what a transformation you can achieve with a bit of chalk paint! I am using chalk paint for my oversized wooden clocks and it can give an amazing look to a piece for wood: Giant Shabby Chic Wooden Wall Clock Contemporary Large Wooden Wall Clock Rustic Oversized Handmade Wall Clock Give it try before you get rid of them:) Anna...See MoreHelp please!!! Comments (24)Hi all, thought I would give an update on the room. I decided to paint in neutral and take some time to allow the extension to complete before attempting this room. We freshened it up with some white paint and I’m now ready to tackle it!! I have sold and cleared much of my clutter after reading the magic art of tidying. The book should really come with a warning. I have literally ransacked our home! We have ordered a new sofa. We went with the French connection zinc. A 3 seater in light grey with dark cushion combo with a grey leather cuddler. We have a decorator pencilled in for 3 weeks time. I’m loving the teal blue shades for an accent wall to separate the living area from the play end. I like teal tension by Dulux and F&b stiffney blue or Hague. I’ll post some samples tomorrow. I’m not sure which one or two walls to paint. Either just the fireplace wall or the long wall facing window (or both). Undecided on colour for other walls too either little greene French grey in pale or elephants breath. I think I would like the darker wall to be one that the tv sits against. Where would you put tv? I would like to change the stand for a lower more minimalistic one. Love all of the mid century styles. The other side of the room will be for the girls as our dining area has moved to the extension room. Any idea much appreciated. Here is a current pic. The toys and armchair will go to other end of room....See MoreNeed Flooring help please for an open plan kitchen/dining/living space
Comments (21)Hi there, When it comes to engineered wooden floors they have been designed to work in conjunction with under floor heating so there is no issue there. If you are looking to go for a wooden floor then we would recommend going for an engineered board with a brushed and lacquered finish. The brushed texture will hide and scratches or scuffs that may occur, the lacquer on the board. Generally our boards come with 8 coats of Super Matte Lacquer. The lacquer will help protect the board from any spillages seeping into the board. If you have an idea of the colour you would be looking to go for we would be more than happy to suggest some suitable products. We also have some very realistic laminate Flooring by Kronoswiss. The Kronoswiss origins ranges comes in at 14mm thick. It is An AC5 Grade, each laminate is graded between AC1 - AC5. AC5 being the most durable. These boards have been designed to take heavy traffic. The origins range comes with the new Aqua stop technology, stopping spillages from seeping into the board for up to 72 hours. Giving reassurance if any spillages do happen. Here are some of the boards from the Origins range. This is the Kronoswiss Rock Oak Kronoswiss Moon Kronoswiss Sunset. See full range here. If you do have any further queries or suggest a colour of flooring we will try our best to point you in the right directions. You can either give us a call on 0141 8875 5698 or you can drop us an email at info@floormonster.co.uk kind Regards, Floor Monster Team...See MoreSarah
