Need help picking wall colours to go with brick fireplace

We've just finished installing our new log burner with reclaimed red(ish) brick to the surround. The floor is next, and is going to be natural slate so each tile is slightly different with reds, grey, blacks and tints of yellow.

We just cannot decide on colours for the walls... ideas?

We want a 'warm' room, with plenty of character.

I would go for a green or a blue, or a mix of the two!

Hi. You only have a few pics in your ideabook so I don't really know what style you like or what else is in the room. If in budget I would do something like this with subtle black and white geometric tiles. The surround could either be white or a dark grey https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/contemporary-bedroom-contemporary-bedroom-phvw-vp~15424094 In terms of accessorising you could have a round mirror with just a vase of flowers in front which sit slightly in front of the mirror, choose informal style flowers such as blossom etc alternatively you could just add a piece of art with maybe a couple of bowls, maybe with some brass to pick up the fire, in different sizes on the mantle off centre

Well the walls have been repainted at last. And the winner was....................... F&B Cromarty! Second was Mizzle, but it looked a little too dark in my north facing room, but it was a close contender. Thank you all for your brilliant advice. We both love the colour, and you can see how different it is in various areas. E D - the sofas are now away from the walls and the castors are sitting on brass cups (the plastic ones shattered) and it has worked, they don’t move!

Well what a coincident! Visited a friend yesterday who is having her hallway, stairs and landing painted on Monday and wanted my advice (!). She has chosen a Karndean style herringbone floor for her hall and a soft check stair carpet in a warm caramel colour. Staircase is oak and glass. Not much natural light in the hall. We looked through loads of paint charts but she didn’t want the expense of F&B or Little G. Then we both felt Dulux Caramel Latte or Caramel Blush would look good. She later bought some matchpots and loves both shades, so she’s having the Latte on one wall and the Blush on the rest. They are lovely warm tones with very appropriate names!
