That made me smile and is so true OnePlan. Personally I always go for a kitchen diner for the same reasons as Jaimie but also because the sense of space is so much more relaxing to work in as well. Choose a good classic design and colour for the kitchen units so that you can zone the dining area in complimentary colour if you want to.

Hi Julia, it's a bit difficult making suggestions from a distance without seeing and 'feeling' the space but you have several options... pendant lights are certainly one, as Pavilion Broadway has suggested. You could have several dotted around the space, even hanging them at different heights - which could be fun. Alternatively you could use LED strip lighting around the room - this gives a very modern look and of course could be used in conjunction with other types of lighting. The attractive vaulted ceiling means you will be looking up at it so you don't want to be blinded by spotlights pointing down and remember you'll occasionally need to change bulbs so whatever you install make sure it is accessible. Depending on how you decorate and furnish the room you could consider a variety of lighting that works from the floor upwards. I think we are too often stuck on the idea that lights have to come down from the ceiling. They don't. Hope that helps but will be happy to discuss further. Best wishes, it looks a super project. Hi Subedi, May I ask what exactly is your project? The picture is for the existing plans, right? So at the moment there is only bedrooms and bathroom. It’s not a big house and I suspect that if you try to increase the number of rental bedrooms you only invite the student market which may not be your intention. You need to make the decision on your local market- I suspect your research will tell you that either no change will increase the rental potential enough to justify the cost. Or you might conclude two bedrooms with a bathroom each is great for sharing professionals
