Need help with interior designing

Attached is the plan of the living room and dining room. We would like to make it contemporary (more on traditional and not modern). We are keen to make the fireplace cosy in the formal living area. The casual living area can have the bar in it. We keen to make the whole place look bit traditional rather than modern. Any help / advice will be appreciated. Attached is the lay out and setting we have in mind.
