Soo you have upvc kitchens? Wood in a tropical kitchen doesn't work

I'm looking for kitchen cabinets made from upvc. I'm in Jamaica and have fitted a concrete kitchen but need all the cabinets to be made of something other than wood which is rustproof. Wood attracts too many insects.

Hello Marion, I think the tv can stay but the height of the plant would add to it and give a softer appearance.. Put it in a lovely pot and sit it in front.. Also have you thought about a small dark wooden unit for tv that would compliment the dining table and the sideboard? That would also help.. For the dining area I would suggest a large mirror but you have the tree.. It does look like there was a chimney breast and possibly the fireplace is still there? but has been plastered over and room has been divided since. Again it is hard to see as the pictures are not of the whole room or as much can fit at the angle of the shot. If this is a partition wall could it be removed? It would open out that part of the room. Is the other side of that chimney breast on the other side where the fish tank is? It would mean then that the fireplace is at the dining end of your rooms.. I can just make out a very subtle light fitting.. Is this a pendant and if so can it be lowered a fraction? One last thing.. When you have decided what to paint the chimney breast.. Think of complimentary curtains (mentioned earlier) and cushions and throws for the sofa and chairs to compliment.. : ))

Thanks everyone for the very helpful comments and supporting pictures indeed! Some really great suggestions, thank you. The design is from Howdens joinery so it is pretty standard, and very basic and yes they've just basically ticked boxes! I will explore Kulman's kitchens at Costcos (I'm based in north east London so relatively close to one). Cost for the proposed kitchen is coming around to more than £2k, I'm not sure if this is good value (I'm told it is - I'm a first time buyer so lack experience here!) I like the idea of using dummy drawer fronts and will ask if these are available for below the sink. Space wise the room is 4.8m wide and 3.8m depth. They've done all the electrics and stuff so it looks like the kitchen will be best placed on the left. But I don't know if it is the best use of the space. I think having a peninsular run coming off the main wall (between the window and French doors) is something I will consider. Unfortunately budget is rather limited, so I wish I had asked sooner before getting my windows. I've been given a (new) washing machine and a (new) fridge as gifts and unfortunately neither are the right sizes to be properly integrated, so this isn't possible which is a big shame as they really do look out of place. However, I am glad I can at least change the colours of the worktops - I like the idea of using a light grey colour, and think this will improve the overall look. Melissa- hello!! lovely to see a fellow weege. definitely helps to hear that taking it out would have been the big undertaking we fearwed ( and cant afford!) sorry for you though, bet it is starting to look amazing!! are there pics? Ruth thank you I do so appreciate that and you are right once primed we might have better idea, didnt think of that. and will be keeping the idea a room needs finished in mine. and the fun part I am determined to try and maintain.... adventure starts here....!
