Comments (34)This might sound a bit oddball but how about a vintage tall corner cabinet for storing towels, bottles, etc. Just think that if you went with a small cabinet you’d have the same issues that you’re having now. There are lots of styles which you can pick up second hand for next to nothing and you could paint or varnish to how you want (this is just an example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rustic-Tall-Corner-Cabinet-Shabby-Chic/253999560281?hash=item3b238db659:g:dasAAOSwRhFbo1mG ). I initially thought of wallpaper but think it will look too busy all over, how about getting a sample and putting into a frame for artwork. I saw this pattern (see pics) and thought it would look great with your decor, thinks it’s called Flying ducks by Mulberry. Also added a pic with idea for mirror over the sink. Comments (42)Love it, it looks great :) That was a valspar paint wasn't it on the walls? That's the 2nd time today I've thought, hmm, maybe I should have shopped around a bit before paint a room F&B setting plaster! From memory you were looking at the Cole and son circus wallpaper, not sure of its proper name? The table and chairs look fab, you can see a fair bit of the coral legs. The wood has come up brilliantly. I think I remember a Victorian table before. I actually really like the floor as is.. I'm just trying to think back to your original inspiration pic as I probably won't find it again. Were you looking for the same effect but in Lino? I'm with you re spices and oil cabinets. The only thing I'd say is I think spices are meant to be stored in a cool place so may be better off in the larder....See MoreDated fitted wardrobes
Comments (9)Hi everyone, Thank you for all the advice and comments, I really appreciate it. Re: Bed, yes this was just our old bed that we have brought over and keen not to buy anything until the work starts. My biggest struggle is, yes I know it looks heavy with all the wardrobes but the storage space is much needed so it’s trying to keep the storage without overwhelming the space. I will try and get hold of a carpenter and get some advice/ideas. Thank you again....See MoreWe bought a 1920s house and want to make the exterior up to date
Comments (15)some great suggestios here, so thank you . the existing render on the sides of the house is a bit tired and crackng and some cases attemtped to be repaired in the past . Hence why i was drawn to the idea rendering all the way around .i had a chap over who suggested, like some here, to render over the concrete based edging stones and trim ( not sure what you call upper and lower sandstone looking bands that go around the whole house ) . He suggested using a different colour for the details and we liked the polar white ( white with a hint of of grey and offwhite in it ) foer the main facsia. this would avoid the repointing and sandblasting off the exisitng paint only to paint over it again. I love thise pictures from Marina Drobot @ cinnamin space and the darker shade of render with a lighter shade on the detail seems to look nicer then the inverse of that . That being said, the white painted brick also had some nice character to it , although my current painted brick doesnt, so im not convinced a new lighter colour will really enhance all that much. Another option was to render down to the sandstone trim and then paint the existing bricks to match the render colour...but then would that look off, modern mixed with not modern ?...See Morelucidos
