White living room, which colour curtains to get?

I have a small living room, we have recently re-plastered it all and painted it in Dulux Jasmine white. Can you please advise me which coloured curtains to get? we have windows with a drop of 54"

Need a bit more info ... Is it North facing / South etc. do you have toddlers who eat chocolate and then grab curtains ( ruling out white ones!) or country furniture - or all modern and chrome etc ?!? Or bold coloured bean bags and no couch .... You get the idea !!

So you get sun for a good part of the day which means the room is quite bright. The black sofas are light sapping, so if you are keeping them you need the throws and cushions to help brighten them up. I rather like your dark wood furniture and they will be improved with plants to give a bit of a colonial or tropical vibe. You could wallpaper one wall in something a bit tropical to add lovely greens. Some are quite colourful so you can pick colours out for your accessories. In which case a nice soft white on the rest of the walls would look great. The wall behind the tv and table looks like a good wall to wallpaper. You can’t deny it gives you plenty of colour!

Going for a white sofa would help create a light and airy living room. The white sofa would match the airy elements you already have in the room: the light pastel wallpaper and blue chimney heart, the white skirting, the light coloured wooden flooring. The black of the fireplace hearth can be tied together with details like black legs for the white sofa, black legs (maybe hair pin legs) for a white coffee table or for a cabinet (cabinets with legs look very smart: https://www.buzzfeed.com/alisoncaporimo/legs-for-days). Black cross legged lounge chair & ottoman in a navy blue would match the navy curtains. See through furniture helps for an uncluttered feel: transparent chairs, glass table, thin furniture legs, x leg ottomans. The window coverings also have to be in light materials. Consider introducing flowy sheer fabric with or instead of the navy curtains. White or light pastel coloured area rugs in the room and avoid choosing area rugs featuring heavy and busy patterns. Hi Newbie ! Thanks for email ! So no toddlers and south facing ! Minimal, neat and tidy ... Ok I'd say White curtains with a sheer curtain too in a silver or pale pink, hung behind that could be used separately as a light defuser or as a lining in winter might work ? Simple, Elegant and will help create the illusion of a larger space.
