Need help choosing a color for my damask stencil in the lounge!
Comments (70)I have two to do more, but i've had enough for today, practically all my wall done, i havent taken a picture yet because its a mess on my table and i cant be arsed to tidy up. I have a banging headache from this paint and the white spirit used to clean, have turned off the music and just need to sit in a quiet room for now.... lol I will post a picture when it is tidy and have finished my second frame! Might do it later, or leave it for another night......See MoreBright Green chair...
Comments (4)I agree - i think your chair would work in a room that lets it be the focal point, so having neutrals around it are key. I think pairing this green with white, perhaps a dark wood table and ceramics scattered around in varying sizes would really give it the modern earthy look you're hoping to emulate. Dotting the room with one or two plants (and that could even be wood/twigs etc) would go a long way in maintaining the look too. I've attached a photo below - I'm not crazy about the room, but it might help you visualise what you're after!...See MoreHELP: How to decorate my lounge?
Comments (15)It does depend on your taste, but I would go for contrasting rather than matching art - something that really pops out of the wall. We have a similar colour scheme to you in our sitting foom and I have gone for abstract art (which I recently discovered a love of). Sorry its not a very good pic of it, but I love the picture, and the colours suit and contrast with the room. There are some really good online retailers - this one was from King and McGaw....See MoreMaking a feature of the log burner
Comments (6)You could add a fireplace mantel: Not in that material/colour exactly perhaps, but just to make it more imposing, and then paint the wall behind/to the sides of it to make it pop. Then you could either mount the TV on the wall above it or hang a statement mirror there (or something equally as eye-catching). Or, you could incorporate shelving along a section of the wall in addition to mounting the TV above the log burner, tying all the possible focal points of the room up into one main one with the log burner at the heart of it. Just a few ideas, would love to hear everyone else's thoughts!...See MoreOnePlan
