How have you dressed your windows?
Comments (10)I seem to do more roman blinds for customers but it all depends on the area and if the client wants a more contemporary look. Curtains do give a much cosier feel but if the room is on the small side or if the fabric is expensive then roman blinds seem to be the answer, however after saying that some clients just do not like blinds and want to stick with traditional curtains so it is all down to what is discussed between the designer and client and if it suits the room and their lifestyle....See MoreHow to dress this bay window?
Comments (11)Hiya, Bay windows are lovely features, and your suggestion of voiles and curtains could work really well. I think it would be best to have your curtains as dress curtains though, which would stop your radiator from getting eclipsed, and you losing much needed heat.Alternatively, shutters are a lovely look and would provide you with a great deal of privacy. Another suggestion we'd offer for uPVC windows is the idea of PerfectFit blinds. These sit inside a discreet frame, and are available in Pleated, Roller and Venetian blinds for fantastic choice. There's no need for drilling, and they simply clip into each pane of glass via the uPVC frame. I've attached a couple of pictures of bay windows for you to have a look at - or you might like to have a quick peek at our handy video, which has loads more inspiration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyAiEA3MGuc Hope that helps, Zoe...See MoreHow would you dress this recessed patio door (with window)?
Comments (5)I’d definitely stick with a Roman blind for the window. As it’s quite a small window, I’d hang the blind outside of the window recess (a good 6inches above) so that the blind doesn’t block too much daylight when up. You could have a matching curtain, with a pole outside the recess and line up the top of the curtain with the top of the blind. I’d prob just stick with one curtain to pull back to the right across the window as you have light switches on the other side. Eyelet curtains would stack back quite nicely without too much fullness in the way of the window or door. Alternatively, you could just have a track inside the recess for curtains but it might look strange if the blind isn’t also recessed....See Morehow to hide neighbour’s new extension roof
Comments (12)As a fresh pair of eyes looking for the first time, I don’t see a huge issue. With the close proximity of housing in the Uk and the relaxation of planning, lots of us are now finding our sight lines marred by our neighbours latest house improvements. That being said, as the person in residence before the extension, you are fully aware of the wonderful sky that you have now lost and as this roof line is new and outside your control, it’s presence is marring your enjoyment of your space. Adding greenery etc up high or adding screening to your glass will focus your attention more on this area of the room and the negative aspect of the new roofline beyond. How about buying yourselves a large, beautiful extravagant piece of wall art to go on the wall below that will be a positive focal point to make your heart sing! Our issue was our neighbours Juliet balcony on their large loft extension. I now enjoy the sight of a beautiful tree on our patio!...See Morepcmom1
