Would you call yourself an interiors geek?
Comments (13)As much as I can! I have an education in Interior Design and Architecture so my big passion in life is design and being creative. I find it very inspiring to create/design/redecorate an old unused room or furniture and make it useful and personal again. Many people make the mistake of getting rid of old furnitures, where I love to paint it or refurbish it or even use some of my carpenter skills to change it into something else. I will never get rid of anything before I know I have used it in any (stylish) way that I can :) Also, it is a great way to express yourself and your style and create a unique and personal home....See MoreHow to update interior rock wall
Comments (15)Hello Stefkhs, Most welcome, I think with some fabulous mid century pieces you can really make this into a very charming and unique property. It sounds absolutely amazing! A dream project! Do show some pics of the pool... and ask if you want any further advice. By the way the shelving can easily be obtained to make a divider... Some of the early Columbo episodes are a fantastic inspiration! LA has amazing architecture..I've been a fan since I was 9! Definitely don't plasterboard and skim over it will take away what is interesting about the whole place. Besides I think it's less work and actually will be far more appealing to a cool customer! .. :))...See More1908 Arts & Crafts House Interior Door Dilemma
Comments (14)Well 6 years have flown by and I still have a door dilemma! We have decorated the hall/stairs/landing and replaced the cloakroom and WC door with oak ledge and brace doors to match upstairs as advised on here. We still detest the white Georgian looking doors which don't match anything else in the house but don't want a solid ledge and brace as it would make an already dark hallway even darker. Could anyone suggest an oak glazed style door and handle that would tie in with the ledge and brace please? Thanking you all in advance....See Morehas your interior design taste changed much over the years?
Comments (36)Hi patrina :-) So did you actually live in Jamaica for a time or where you born here? Never been but can imagine a very laid back vibe from there! It’s fantastic to chat to people from different backgrounds (sort of a turn this thread has took) as there is too much hate about to do with different cultures and race :-( It’s funny how styles change though! As I’ve said I do like mid century and have a few genuine pieces but I guess the stuff I pick now is probably an evolution of it, well in my eyes have heavily influenced the design of the pieces I like. I also like to make stuff, it’s generally a take on something I’ve seen that is either too expensive or just not quite right but nearly there! In the throws of possibly making a very contemporary concrete bench for the front of the house! It’s one of those ones that is either gonna be great or go horribly wrong....See Morejdubb
