Do you colour code your wardrobe?
Comments (7)Never that organized but since retired have tried a system of sloppy t shirts, dress shirts, casual shirts, dress slacks, jeans etc. And that is a help. Color coordinating would probably be a good idea but since I'm not working I'm usually not in a rush to get ready....See MoreHow much space is needed for a walk in wardrobe?
Comments (3)depending on how you enter you can be a bit clever with different types of storage both sides... ie shallow shoe/bag shelves opposite hanging space - putting things slightly wider at the top but still allowing walk space etc can work if you really need to squeeze the best out of every inch ! Best to measure up how much short hanging space/ folded space/ long hanging space/ shoes/ bags/ etc etc you need by measuring what you have - then draw it all up to see how to make it work for you ... you can do it yourself or ask someone to help who does this sort of thing all the time (like me!)...See MoreMaking the most of a TINY wardrobe - share your storage tricks!
Comments (1)Hello - We at Infiniti2, Bristol would encourage using the space above & to the sides of your standard wardrobe by building in a fitting a wardrobe to the ceiling & side walls. This not only gives you clean lines externally, keeping everything behind closed doors, but also offers you space above for storing bags/boxes/seasonal clothes/christmas decorations. After taking a brief from our customers we can custom build a wardrobe to offer the storage they need: we have built space for ironing boards, ski's, fabric bolts, sewing machines, Tv's, hat boxes as well as skirts, jackets & jumpers. We have just installed a fitted wardrobe the same width as the wardrobe that was remove but because we designed short hanging with two rails verses the one long hanging rail we have doubled the amount of space for hanging, that was just unused space. We encourage customers to store shoes 'heal to toe' (as they come in a shoe box) as this saves space & fold your jumpers to fit the shelf space to the edges, as then you can add more jumpers on top. Slim, 'space saving', coat hangers also make quite a difference when hanging clothes & are well worth trying as are the bags where you can remove air with a vacuum cleaner: you can gain extra inches space with both of these....See MoreHow many mirrors do you have in your house?
Comments (27)sianember - Love the mirrors! They bring back happy memories. I have a business 'upcycling' furniture - although I've been doing it for over 20 years now and recycling was hardly a thing, let alone upcycling, in those days :D - but I started out selling mirrors on Greenwich market. A friend and I would find old mirrors in junk shops (this was in the halcyon days when every high street had at least one, sadly they are few and far between now) and we would 'pimp' them and sell them. We were particularly fond of using shells as they were free, meant we got to spend a day at the seaside and we could use the children to collect them!...See Moremarycolwill
