We make bespoke polished concrete tables and polished concrete table tops using Micro-Concrete. The system we use allows us to emulate the look and feel of poured or cast polished concrete and stone. Our products are highly durable, waterproof and stain resistant. You can choose from our standard sizes and shapes or we can create bespoke designs.

Polished Concrete is fast becoming a popular choice among interior designers. Traditionally the polished concrete look is achieved by diamond polishing cast or poured concrete. The process is labour intensive, causes disruption and can be very messy with a lot of dust being produced.

Our system uses a cementious coating of 2-3mm thick, highly durable Micro-Concrete. Applied by trowel each application has its own character, is warm to the touch and water resistant. We can achieve a seemless, continous finish on any surface including floors, walls and countertops, Polished Micro-Concrete is fire resistant, breathable and ages superbly with a high resistance to rubbing or wear.

Hi there Concrete counter tops can look amazing. As I'm sure you know, its very hard and tough and will stand up well to a busy kitchen environment. It's heat resistant to very high temps and generally won't scratch. Although remember if anything falls on it - such as glass or china - these things are likely to break on such a hard surface. I think it would be very tricky to DIY unless you are highly skilled or very lucky! I would get some professional quotes as there are various processes to consider. Also it will need a level of maintenance as must be properly sealed from the start and re sealed every couple of years - when not sealed it is more likely to stain. Hope this helps. Sarah

Good afternoon everyone! We are blown away by the amazing response we have had from this community, thank you everyone for your feedback. We are especially grateful to Jonathan for his valuable feedback.. the idea is genius and makes so much sense! Thank you so much Jonathan for taking out the time to help us! I have never seen my husband so impressed by an idea so much!! I have attached a couple more photos showing view of the garage from the front of the house along with the entrance gate itself into the property. I have also attached a copy of our floor plan. We would really appreciate your thoughts on what we could to with the garage and front exterior in terms of: Garage walls - What do you think about the brick work? Worth keeping, or should we clad? Garage roof - We currently have an unsightly metal sheet. We don’t want to fully rebuild but we’ve seen light weight roofing for garages which look like tiling. Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Front exterior - We’re looking to improve kerb appeal of the house from the front, any ideas welcome (cladding, paint, stone work?) Windows - these are the original single pane windows which unfortunately come with poor insulation. Any thoughts on what to do for those? Further to the front patio suggestion, is it worth installing an entrance which leads straight into the kitchen through the current ‘Study’? See floor plan. (We are planning to extend the current kitchen by a further 2.5m towards the rear garden). Any ideas, suggestions and comments will be really appreciated, thank you for your help!

We have a similar dilemma and have decided to go for kitchen safe laminate and lay it ourselves. We spoke to a builder who helped us on another job last Summer and he said Howdens laminate is good - though you'd need access to a trade account to buy it. Perhaps you have a contact from your previous work who can help you with that. We enjoy a DIY challenge and can't justify the LVT price tag right now - although if we could then we would go for LVT. I wanted to comment because I noticed your price estimates for Karndean. When we had our LVT quote, the fitter was able to source the Karndean flooring we wanted at around half the price that I'd seen in various places online which meant it came in at around £15 per meter which is cheaper than quickstep. So if you're having the floor screeded anyway (which is a big part of the cost)... perhaps worth talking to a fitter to see what they can do which might save you some money on the LVT to make it more justifiable.
