Need help with my bathroom

Hi I have a dilemma best place for my sink is in front of a window. Problem I would like a mirror in front of my sink. I have walls at each side was thinking of putting a mirror on an arm to pull out but not sure how I can make this look good. Any solutions?

Hi - I have just one example of something similar in the image below where the clients wanted to retain the basin in this position. So we fitted this illuminated shaving mirror; in our case, the window reveal was not deep enough for a fixing, but you have plenty of space. Hope this helps.

I have just gone through this process. My plumber and the specialist tiler each made the same points: (1). Around the "heavy water flow" areas, mosaics are higher risk. The weakest point for water getting in is the grouting. If you use small tiles, you maximise the chances of water damage simply because there is more grouting. (2). Very large wall tiles make their lives more difficult. I used huge wall tiles (90cm X 30cm) and they both said that those very large tiles are more difficult to ensure a completely flat surface. The plastered walls are never completely flat and even and it is easier to adjust adhesive levels with more regular sized tiles. Not a reason to avoid massive tiles (although they seem to be more expensive) but just be aware. On the upside, there are fewer grout lines, so less likely to get water damage! (3). If you get a heavily textured tile surface, it is much more difficult to get a really clean tile cut when they need to trim them. Can result in higher wastage as a result. So, overall, I'd avoid mosaics other than as a trim in bath or shower areas. To keep costs down and make the job faster, go for a smooth wall tile no bigger than 60x40cm. Or ignore all this and go for what you love!

I would probably choose an off white or white, to brighten the room and balance the greys in the wall tiling - you could even go with a satin white if you like, as it will make the room feel larger; the tiled walls are visually broken up into sections by the tile design, so a plain look for the rest of the room is what I'd recommend. If you include the door in your paint colour it will melt into the wall and make it feel larger and less "bitty", too. If you do not want to use white, you could go for a mid-grey that matches the mid-tones in the wall tiles and also the floor, but in this case it's very important to get the grey shade right - either a cool grey to offset the tiles, or a warm grey to go with them, although the danger there is that it might make the room a bit too bland. Personally, I love white - it's bright, neutral and you can always balance the minimalist "coolness" of white walls with accessories and/or artwork. Catherine, It really depend on the style of your home and your personal tastes here. Black is my immediate thought as it works really well with the colours you mentioned and makes both white and silver look stunning. Black adds definition and a sleekness. To best effect, this would work well with Contemporary or Art Deco style rooms which is why I mentioned the style of the house. Do you have a picture you could upload? If you demand more of a statement then I would recommend Reds/Pinks or to be on trend and a bit more subtly try the Deep Indigo or Blue. I hope it helps and look forward to seeing the design. We looked at this as our sink was going to go under the window originally.
If you don't have an opener in the middle, you can get mirrors that suspend from the top to bottom on rods (so the mirror is suspended in the centre) They look really good.

Alternatively, get a larger extending mirror that pulls out from the side as mentioned already.

Why not make the window your mirror? You can buy it per meter from eBay, self adhesive mirror that you would normally put to the outside so people can't see in from outside, you would just have to put it on the other way round so your morrow was facing inside, it will give you a mirror and privacy, or if it's double glazing you can get mirror cut for the inside plain.
