What to do with window?
Comments (6)-- As far as privacy solutions go, Cabell had a good idea with the Roman shade suggestion. Here are a couple more ideas for you to think about 1 .First one is a blind with 2" - 21/2" slat. 2. are shades with a graphic design printed on it and, of course, you would need only one. 3. Matching blind and drapery panels. 4. Decorative shade and would have companion panels. If you or someone you know is a sewer, all of these pieces can be made at home - well, except for the venetian blinds, of course. We don't have enough information to take you any further with this - we would need info about your design style, color, budget, etc. You might want to look into radiator covers for your radiator. Google "radiator covers" and you will find scads of them. It would be a nice addition to this corner of your space....See MoreWindow coverings in a contemporary setting
Comments (1)You can have both! But for a contemporary space, of course, we think shutters have the edge - clean lines, good for heat and noise insulation and easy to wipe clean so less dust. Attached is an image of what you can do with full-height doors and shutters too. What do you think?...See MoreUgly box bay window, ideas please
Comments (11)Hiya, We always recommend making a feature of a bay window, especially in a living space. Choose 3 separate blinds that follow the windows - Roman blinds are a popular choice as they create a luxurious feel, though if you're overlooked you might like something with slats, like shutters as you suggest. Framing the window with dress curtains is a lovely addition too - as you mention, the close-in curtains can make the window feel smaller, so consider a wider curtain pole to make the most of the space and light. Hope that helps, Zoe...See MoreWhat do I do with these two windows?
Comments (9)The thing is if you go for long curtains, when you pull them you will be blocking all the heat from the radiator that sits under the window, which is daft. Admittedly longer curtains certainly add to a luxurious feel, but blocking your source of heat behind them won't work. Thus, I would stick to sill length curtains, but make the most of how they are made. Double pinch pleat with little buttons and a beautiful pole will add luxury.Chenille or velvet in a plain gold or beautiful white would look stunning. Curtains to Go . You could also do either of the above ( chenille or velvet ) in silver Silver Chenille, Silver velvet As an alternative ( because of the radiator ), Why not go for Thermal backed Roman blinds to drop at night, with full length curtains that you don't draw and are for show only. Combining silver curtains such as those above with a lovely white plush blind in a similar material or dupion silk ( maybe with a little texture ) solves the problems.
