Are you looking to self build or Renovate in Italy in an extreme or remote location?? Pioneer Productions are currently developing a new series and are looking to film people moving to Italy to renovate or self build in an extreme or remote location. Good decision then! glass and stainless steel is how Iv decorated my own home. Think from the look of it your on the right road and can't wait to see the finished article! Only thing I would say is if possible when you do the colour scheme /dark walls=light furniture / light walls =dark furniture and may help renting furniture to get an idea of what it will look like in the room before deciding, if you have time? Nothing worse than ending up with that sofa you hate! You have good taste and think the rooms will look great!

Hi. I would bring forward the sofa about 3ft forward from where it is now. Add a long console/sideboard etc behind the sofa (door ŵall) with a pair of matching table lamps and a set of 8/12 symmetrical art prints over the top. Add a console behind the sofa back facing the kitchen and accessorise (not with lamps!). Move the coffee table in front of the sofa. I'd move the tv to the other side of the fire and have someone make a cabinet to fit the tv just something similar to your yellow one). Pop a couple of lamps on this cabinet. Move the chair to the other corner (but not right in it) and pop a floor lamp or your existing one behind. I'd go for art over the fire, something with mainly a white background picking up a little of your colours. I think a light would be fine over the dining table, it won't lower the ceiling further as you've got the extractor, and as the table isn't symmetrical to the island I think it would work. Alternatively remove the light fitting and have an arc lamp on that rhs ŵall partly over the table.What ŵalls were you looking to decorate? Is the blue going? I think given the colours in the room I'd go grey, white or a duck egg could work for the main ŵalls.

What are the maximum dimensions of the footstool? Also what's the height of the sofa to the seat cushion? Personally I'd go for a Chesterfield on legs to keep the feeling of space in a plain fabric with a tray on top as AJ suggested
